carbon look levers

I have a set of carbon levers I bought for my 96 GS500 that were never installed.  Don't have the original packaging but they are brand new.  It's the ones that come on the red and black cardboard package on ebay which I'm sure you have all seen.

Make an offer.  I don't need them.  I think mailing cost should be about $5.

Just a head's up the carbon fiber plastic wrap wears off in about a year. Or they did with me and the peeling looks horrendous ended up having to sand it all down and repaint them. Sooo! Thought I would put this in after they were sold so I'm not having people lose money :thumb:

I did try them - once - never again. Slight bump and the stuff comes off. Besides, I think they look pretty hideous. There's places for carbon and fake carbon on levers is not one of them. Fugley? I think so.

(So glad I spend the extra for ASV and LSL levers. They look soooooo good - real machined aluminum and anodized. Not fake looking. And when I accidentally rush out without gloves: they feel sooooo nice.)

Be aware of the slot for the clutch switch: some after market clutch levers do not have a deep enough slot for the newer clutch switches. They're designed for older clutch switches which are a bunch of tiny parts (see parts fiches and compare an older bike to a newer one). If you have a newer switch and the slot is not deep enough, you'll break the switch. Remember to remove the switch before the lever. If older switch, watch for falling tiny parts. Suggest you rotate the perch 180* anyway so the switch is on top when you remove and reinstall it. Rotate back to connect up the cable. Be sure you install the switch the right way and that it gets in that slot.

Yeah, I broke my switch pulling my old lever out, I had to yank it hard and at the wrong angle since my clutch adjuster would not cooperate. Oh well, new adjuster was like 3 dollars, same with new contact holder.
