Idiot! It's compulsory here to wear a helmet, there even thinking of making it the law to wear a protective jacket too.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I think you guys missed the point completely.

They're not protesting that wearing a helmet isn't safer, they're protesting the government taking the choice away from them. While I wouldn't choose not to wear a helmet for personal reasons, it's up to the rider and not the state, to make that choice.

Insurance lobbyists are pushing the passage of the bills removing helmet laws. I am guessing so they can up your insurance rates.
my case in point.
I have lived in 3 Different states. 2 with helmet laws and 1 without.
Same bike, same insurance company. same price premiums until I moved to the state without helmet law, got a letter that week that my motorcycle insurance would be going up 30%.  Even though I live 2 blocks from the police and fire station.
MY car insurance went down by 15% because of the proximity to the police station, I guess for less theft chance?? But I have theft coverage on the Bike too.

I don't care if someone wears a helmet or not. That is their life choice, I am not their protector. I do care for extra costs placed on me for those changes to the laws. That pisses me off.
