Motorbiking has always been a hobby rather than an alternative to proper transport, and as with all hobbies, the people who partake are extremely knowledgeable.
Because they are so knowledgeable, they will know precisely why the bike you select is rubbish and why theirs is superb.   Jeremy Clarkson

Took her for a nice little ride then cleaned her chain

Angled the headlight so it's no longer blinding drivers in front of me.

Rode it the tropical weather that Canberra is having at the moment. Maxed out at 9.1C (48F) and started raining on the way back. Jeans and mesh gloves = bad idea. I've got the proper cold/wet gear but didn't put it on.

Finally got around to "temporarily" mounting my SV tail light. and relocated my plate...but i'm not sure of its visibility.

Jardine Full Exhaust system, KN air filter, rejetted carbs, put on a 14t front sprocket.

Paint job is next. Pearl white and sky blue.

Mods are incredible. I don't know why people say dropping two teeth in the front ruins the top end but my bike was still hitting 40 in first gear and I was able to hit 120 easy on the highway in 6th at 10k rpms. I haven't dyno ran it but it went from a fairly gutless bike to one that can easily power wheelie in first gear and second as well with a very slight clutch pop.

I have heard putting these mods onto this bike is a waste of money but I could not disagree more. It's no supersport but it's got balls alright. It doesn't have the high end of my gixxer but it's damn fast. And I think it has better low end torque personally.

700 for the exhaust, KN, Jet Kit, and 14t sprocket was some of the best money I've spent. Paint job is next. Then a Kos Speedometer and Tachometer combo that shows fuel level, has an adjustable shift light, air pressure guage..... You name it. All for 329 installed. Throwing a Michelin 170 rear tire on tomorrow. Way easier to handle then the gixxer and honestly more fun. Going in a straight line gets old after a while. Flying around twisties and having no fear you'll lose control never gets old.

Please read this before you do! http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Upgrades.Tires

Not sure how you are able to reach 200kph though... my GS has the same mods (but 15T front sprocket) but cannot overcome the wind resistance past 175kph  :dunno_black:
Also, I'm not sure how you will get the fuel level working on the Koso gauge as the GS500 tank does not have a sender. What do you mean by air pressure gauge?

It tells you the pressure in your tires. I'll have to look into the sender issue. My guy says he can make it work. I'll have to call Kos and find out if there is an accessory that allows it to send.

I'll keep you posted. Don't know what to tell you about your top end. But mine certainly was no different. My favorite part is how rich it runs. I don't even need the choke now it just starts without it no problem.

I'll check out the tire thread. Thanks my friend. I was just surprised when I didn't have to shift earlier than 40mph in first like I was told I would have to.
