When i'm slowing down at a stop sign or red light, say coming down to about 2-5mph rolling speed and going to accelerate, i hear a light klunk sound. The sound happens once and sounds VERY close to what a bad mount mount in a car engine would be. It happens right at acceleration, so it could be the motor being slightly pushed back, if it had a mount mount bushing. I googled around and only saw bolts nothing of a bushing manor.

So i'm wondering/asking is the engine bolted directly to the frame and not allowed any flex? Or is there some rubber/slycone type of bushing allowing some vibration and flex. If so where is this stuff and how hard is it to replace.

Hard mounted to the frame via steel ears and steel bolts. There are spacers in 2 of the 4 mounts, but unless you're missing all of those you wont have the motor move.
You may be having a cush drive going, or a countershaft bearing or somethign else, can also be a kinked or stretched chain. Clutch basket comming loose can also do some fugly noises. Start with the simplest, cush drive, chain. Work your way deeper and $$$'er.
Cool.

cush drive is in my rear wheel, something looked at when you remove the rear wheel, when you pull that bearing/hub off the wheel, is the cush part of the hub or still part of the wheel.

When i pulled the rear wheel for a tire swap, i made sure everything spun nicely, mainly bearing wise. I didn't know of a cush drive. The chain is properly adjusted.

The sprocket carrier is pushed into the cushion drive on the rear wheel. If any of the rubber cushions get dry rot, they will clunk and also make for a jerky accerleration.I would also check both calipers and the rear caliper torque arm that mounts to the swing arm.The head tube/steering stem bearings could be loose or bad.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Had a similar problem on my gs.

Strange clunking sound only on acceleration at low speeds.

I had the chain properly lubed and adjusted and I was sure that wasn't the problem.

Turned out to be chain and sprockets.  :icon_mrgreen:
