Its summer! Why no posts about rides, new build threads, creativity, and good ole fashioned mayhem???

Big Rich

You answered you own question- at least up here it's summer. So......Australia? What's going on over on your hemisphere?

Personally, I went for a ride from 10:30 this morning and got home at 3:00 this afternoon.

Actually, I check it when I wake up, go to bed, have a free moment...

You're right to be concerned about forum activity!

This is pretty much the best message board in the whole world. Every question I ever have about these bikes has pretty much been answered in every possible manner. And even if someone (um, myself included) starts a thread that they should have UTSFd, people are still nice and helpful. I can't believe how much I learned about bikes thru this site.

If you compare craigslist last year with the one from today it looks like there are double the motorcycle-for-sale ads. At least in my city.
Looks like with all the doom and gloom in the media that people are unloading their toys big time. All of the moto forums I am on are significantly slower compared to 3-5 years ago.

I've been doing some repairs on my SV650.  I could show you some pics of that  ;)

Yup, just about the best motorcycle forum in the world, ever, ever.  :D
Only reason us Ozzies in the Sydney area ain't polishing our projects or posting much is that with the blooming wet weather we're having we're all probably busy bashing an Ark together. I tell you, any thoughts of Australia being a sunburnt country have gone right out the window this week!!!!! Wish us luck!

This is what I hate about many forums. The default answer to new rider questions by a lot of established members is "use the search function". If that's the case, we might as well shut down the forum and switch it to read-only since pretty much every question has been answered.

Forums are built around socialization, asking (redundant) questions, talking about common interests and motorcycle education.

Also that a lot of stuff can change or people can figure out newer and better ways to do something, but that doesn't always mean they log in to find an old post and update it. Sometimes by asking the same question again if remind people/gives them the motivation to share the easier or newer way they figured out to do it.

I've been thinking it is slow too.  Agonizingly slow!  I check the site all day here at work and sometimes there isn't JACK going on.  (ack)  I even went back to my bookmarked page on 566 to keep digging through old threads, looking for interesting stuff.

If you see project threads, bump them to the top!

Resurrection time!

Its been pissing down in my corner of Australia for the last week. Puddles getting so big all the city 4WDs are getting to scared to go through them. Its okay the Mighty GE Mazda 626 goes through them fine. I've been curtailing to my wife's desires for me to drive the spare car in the wet rather than ride. She worries. At least today I could get out again on the bike. It missed me I think. Still some heated grips wouldn't go astray to keep my hands warm during this winter.
