This is a branch off of the thread about which mesh jacket.

So summer in Tallahassee, FL MAY break one day (would be nice not to instantly be soaked when sitting at a red light).

Believe it or not, it actually can get cold in the northern part of Florida (usually have a week or so sub freezing... although no snow) so need recommendations on a warm riding jacket that isn't leathers.

I wear a Tourmaster Intake. It's a mesh jacket, but it has both a rain and cold weather liner that zips in and out, and I've had no problem wearing it and a hoody in Virginia winters.

I'm in O-town my Gx-Air does great down into the 30's with a short sleeve and longsleeve underarmour shirt on then a regular long sleeve T. The liner is outstanding. To be quite honest it is warmer than my AGV leather Suzuki jacket. I found myself early morning grabbing the GX over the leather. Only reason I grabbed the leather is because someone was selling it on here for a killer deal it was blue and had Suzuki on it without GSXR krap.

Heh. I'm in Ft Lauderdale and my bike's put away for the summer, waiting for the humidity to break.

Does your mesh jacket have a rain liner? If so, just zip it in and wear a sweater under that.

I've been riding with a Joe Rocket textile jacket (whatever the most basic model is/was) and it's fine down to 45F. This, for riding for 1-2 hours. Frankly, any colder / farther than that just isn't worth it in the winter. The jacket, textile pants, good gloves and layering.

Currently I ride with a shift airborne... It is fine for mild to hot weather (just not scorching) but have a feeling it wont do well in cold.. It doesn't have a rain liner or anything.
