I just off the phone with airtech and yeah  :x ... I would never deal with them again. I purchased their full fairing kit and solo tail for my gs and when the front fairing arived there was no instuctions in the box at all. The shop I ordered it through called them immedealty to have the directions be sent becasue they were not there and airtech's response was there were no instructions for that kit at all. I then checked there website and plain as day in their descripition "comes with good old fashioned instructions" I called them back today and I was on hold for about 20 minutes then they answered. When I asked about the instructions he just kinda blew it off and was like ummm there aren't any. I then told him that on their site it said that and that I need them casue I have no idea how to line this fairing up on the bike or anything ( Im new to this stuff ) His response was you should be able to figure it out yourself. Even after all of this he still wouldnt help me, then I asked him to send me the directions that I needed for this and his response was I can't becasue you dont have your shops invoice # from airtech and I wont send them unless I see an acount? He got very sarcastic with me and started mimiking me.  After that I gave up and was like whatever man ya might be getting a kit sent back to you from my shop and he was like i'd love to see you try that, We processed your credit card number and we will refuse the return ship...... And thats where it ended by him hanging up on me. Not a good experience at all with these people after I spent well over $800 with their company. My shop has yet to still recieve the tail from them also  :x

Hi-T

Dang- that totally pisses me off too.  Did you get an Email address from them?  I would totally send a hate letter in your belhalf... or after everyone has posted their disgust here, email them a link... and maybe you could post on the SV board or another board- word can spread fast and if they get enough heat they might take care of you.

Did you get a name of the a**hole you dealt with?

Sorry - later

You paid the shop, right?  (not Airtech directly).  If you decide to return the kit, just return it to the shop and say that the product was not as-advertised.

If the shop shrugs it off, print-out the website promise of "instructions included", and the shop's refusal to accept the return, and send it in a letter to your credit card company fraud office.  Report that you are disputing the purchase, and provide your records.

The bad part of this, is that the credit card company will fall on the m/c shop, and force them to take the return and credit your card.  The guys at the shop probably ordered the kit from AirTech as a vendor, and do not have the same consumer protection... so they would probably be left trying to sell the fairing on eBay or something.  If it's a small shop, and you know the folks there (or you intend to shop there more), then it's probably not worth it.
You cannot escape our master plan!

Seems pretty much in line with other airtech stories... yet people keep buying...

Sorry you haven't had much luck.
There is more to this site than a message board.  Check out http://www.gstwin.com

Dispute it with your credit card immediately.  Not tommorrow, but right this minute.  NOW!!!  The longer you wait, the less chance you have of recooping your money.  Tell them exactly what the rep said and how he said it.  Also contact the BBB after you started the process with your credit card company.

Oh yeah, post up their email address here.  Sometimes a company will  think twice about screwing you if they recieve a couple hundred nasty emails from other GS owners.

Hipocracy.... becoming more acceptable with the more power you think you have.

I second that Better Business Bureau (BBB). Notify them and tell them your whole situation. This will mark them as a bad company to deal with.

Well, who of you checks with BBB when buying anything. I don't think I ever did. I do make a search for the knowledge base, such as database on this site.
If I search for Airtech here, I can't tell from the first glance that I should stay away from them. Perhaps, if I saw 5 posts "Airtech sucks!" "Airtech - stay away!" "Airtech customer service", etc..., I'd get a clue. So, I guess it is a matter of enough people getting burnt for others to get wise.

As far as this incident, send them the link to this post and any other you find that describes their sucky service and post their email info here for people to vocalize their opinions directly to them.

No one buys from airtech because they have top notch customer service.
