Got hungry and thought of this one.. I'm really into Olive Garden, I don't know what it is but when I'm there, I feel like I'm family.    Anyway, gotta love the Italian food.

I haven't been to a fast food place in years... BK, Mcdonalds... ick.  Toxic stuff! :P
Pizza doesn't count ;) It's good for you, especially at a family owned joint :)
Although I do want to try In-N-Out one of these days when I make it to Cali...

Favorite place to get food? Otafuku Okonomiyaki in the East Village... and if I don't want that, there's soba across the street and more Japanese food right down the block... yum yum  8)

Yes, as a New Yorker, I would get flogged if I ever suggested the Olive Garden. We're all snobby here about our food.

I, however, would be happy with a greasy-ass diner burger & Fries. :thumb:

toke a bowl  (taco bell) ... mmmm burritos

There's this great Italian place in Phila called Bucca de Beppo's that is incredible. The food comes out family style and the portions are huge! ......mmm fried calamari....

Thanks Ace I had myself convinced dorm food was good until memories of Bucca's came back...

Oh, I forgot... when in Albany, NY, you really need to check out Bombers Burritos on Lark St.  Soooooo good!  :thumb:

I really like Chili's.  The food (and margarita's) are very good.  Not too expensive, either.

hey, i did olive garden last week.  the waitresses must be on a commission or something because they're always trying to push menu options on the patron.  yeah, i'll have sausage with the lasagna...[gulp, 2.50 apiece].   :x

italian food rules but next time i'll have to specify that my spaghetti noodles be served separate from the meat sauce so the noodles can cool and dry a little because i can't stand soggy spaghetti.

Of course you did, you're from Long Island. Your only eating choices are diners or slevs :nana:

Anyhow, STAY AWAY FROM THE CHAIN RESTAURANTS, PEOPLE. You can get an infinitely better meal at an equal price if you just look around and aren't afraid to try the random places.
As for fast food, it's all the same. It ends up ruining your stomach in a span of 10 minutes. Except when you're in college and are magically impervious to the effects of fast food.

Yeah, I miss places that aren't open until 4 am... goddamn homebody family upbringing domesticated neighborhoods here.  There's all of two pizza joints open past midnight here within a 10 mile radius.  I still stand by my diss on diner food.  Gross.  It's so overpriced here, it's actually worth going to chain restaurants for some semi-tasty variety, unless you really do crave an endless cup of coffee swill!

CHAIN!!!!!!

I work right near there. It's pretty cleverly disguised but not authentic.
There's so much better itallian food around here.
My favorite is Shank's and Evelyn's right down the street from where i live. My friend actually has the counter girls kiss his chicken cutlet sandwich - he says it tastes better.

I like Bucca de Beppo's, they have awesome garlic bread.  Authenticity doesn't matter a whole lot to me, though as long as I like it.

Places I like on the cheap:
Honeybee's of Geneva, OH (nice little place to get simple food for cheap)

Eldorado's Pizza Pie of Kent, OH (sports bar, usually not too packed even on the weekends)

Papa John's!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Q in Syracuse NY.  This isn't health food, but even without the atmosphere, even without the custom bikes outside, even without the bands, the ribs are hard to beat.  Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and worth a trip if you're not.

Web page: http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/

From the web page:
"The Dinosaur Bar-B-Q was started in 1983 by three bikers, bound together by the love of good food, a 55 gallon drum cut in half, and a serious case of wanderlust. For five years the road was our home, slinging Bar-B-Q at motorcycle shows, fairs, and festivals up and down the east coast. It is from our travels that our Bar-B-Q evolved. By 1988, burnt out from the road, our gypsy journey settled into downtown Syracuse and opened up as a take out BBQ joint.

In 1990, feeling the need to couple some booze with our Bar-B-Q, we doubled our space and added a full bar and waitress service. Blues always served as our musical backdrop so the next step became live music. Starting with our first act, Dr. Blue, we went from one night of live music to two, then three.... as they say, the rest is history. "

Okonomiyaki !!!!!!!! I havent eaten sooooooo long time!! I thought many American don't like okonomiyaki!, so I havent had a chance to go to the okonomiyaki place since I dont have Japanese friends here. Yes? No? But I have had a plan to take my friends to okonomiyaki place for a long time! hmmm... yummy!

Soba??!! Ohhh we have a very good soba restaurant in Orange County!! When you come to CA, let me know, I will take ya!  ;)

I love any kinda Japanese food of course. My ex was into Yakiniku restaurant (Japanese BBQ) after I took him. Also, I love Korean food.

My vote goes to fuudruckers... anything with ostrich in it... 1lb ostrich burger... I make them substitute ostrich for beef... one place I go to a lot does it... used to be run by these people that magically were attracted to us... Yea my wife sweet talked them into being our friends... funny they were both girls... but my wife was pregnant... and they wanted to feed her good. Then they both quit... so back to getting 1/2 lb ostrich... on the menu item... BTW Mick's in Atlanta... Heath bar ice cream pie... best I ever eaten.
Cool.
