More paqrts sorting today.
No idea why I hqave so many rear sets, chain guards, bars, clip, horns, etc. STILL MORE to sort.

Shaddow

So how long before you stop putting things on carboard, paper etc when placing on the floor?
And holy flying goats you have some spares. (Says the man who currently can make three and half engines for his project car, not including the one in it.)

The floor is already done. I have Trey on cardboard because he marks his territory and I want to keep the floor clean.
The parts bike is a real mess and dirty. Easier to locate parts on clean cardboard rather than the floor with the speckles.

What looks like paper in a photo is really bright sun on the floor. Only cardboard down is under Trey and the parts frame for the bike build.

Suzi is now in the cave, parking on the bare floor - no diaper. Junior will go in this weekend after I finish a little more organizing. He won't need a diaper, either.

LMAO have more parts than our resident parts whore buddha. LMAO

Today all bikes got to hang out in the "cave".
Still more parts to sort and organize. At least I can now work there.
I love working in the cave!

And a bowling pin is a GREAT wooden mallet!

It looks like you already need to expand again.

Did I miss the installation of the Booze Fridge?
I like a non-sequitur as much as the next Giraffe.

adidasguy

Fridge at the office, will be in the cave next week. It is a small dorm-size that can hold 4 to 6 6-packs.

mister

Cool. So in the US they are Dorm Fridges or Compact Fridges, while down here we just call 'em Bar Fridges.

That blue is lookin pretty sharp... status update on the title, they sent it back to me because apparently they needed the engine number to process it... I'm still working on it though. The garage looks sick!

Added the beer repository.

Had good work day today.

adidasguy

Bike cave is a success!

Today we had a real work day which included:
* Changing springs in a set of 2009 forks
* Putting the 2009 forks on Junior, a 1994 bike
* Changing springs in Suzi, a 2009, with forks still on the bike! Quite a feat! Simple in the cave!
* Changing front master cylinder, SS brake line and front calipers to newer 2009 ones on Junior
* Changing battery to LiFe in Junior
* Putting Junior's battery in Scott's bike because someone put in the wrong battery
* Putting new battery in Dave's bike
* Rebuilding sets of forks
* made a tool to take forks apart
* Replacing forks on Scott's bike
* Putting the Kat shock that was on Trey onto Scott's bike

Oh, and having beers, pretzels, doritos and M&M's with peanuts.

I think we did more, but that's all I can remember right now.

One handy thing is so many bikes in one place and tons of spare parts. When we wonder how something goes together, we just look at another bike. When we wondered how the parts go back together in a shock, we just took another one apart paying attention to how it went together.

The West Seattle GS500 club rocks!

Rebuilding forks. You can see the threaded rod that Scott made for removing the fork internals. Saved a BUNCH of money from having to buy a Suzuki tool. Did you know that a round paint roller is just the right diameter to press in for seals?

HOISTS: We can hoist up 2 or 3 bikes at one time. Sweet!

Funny, that's what we call 'em in Canada too...but then we (Aussie & Canadians) drink more beer per capita than our American friends...hence the "beer fridge"...notice there are hardly any in there?  :icon_razz:

Thanks Patrick. That was a good day of wrenching. Much enjoyed, and pretty much a whole new bike at the end of it. Or that's how it felt, anyhow. Yeaah! :woohoo:
