So a week ago, my 2002 GS500E started up great and kept an idle of just over 1k, perfectly...

Yesterday I started it up, wouldn't idle at all, tried adjusting the idle.. No go.  The bike's throttle response is great but as soon as it dips to 1500>, it dies out.  Tried starter fluid just to see if it was the fact that it sat for a week and a half while the hurricane came through my place, started but didn't hold idle.

I got the bike a few months ago, it had carb problems, and i cleaned them as best i could, it had old gas that sat for about 4-6 months, added seafoam and new gas to it.  I replaced the rear tail light for a smoked integrated light, the handlebars for clubman bars, and all seemed well until I tried letting it run..

Any ideas?

When was the last time the carbs were cleaned?  If you can't remember, then they need to be cleaned.  Sounds like something is stuck or clogged in there.

Very easily could've been the change in weather that cause something to loosen up and clog your pilot circuit.

First:

Drain the gas, replace with new gas. You may have added too much seafoam, causing the gas to be very difficult to get to combust.

Then:

1.) Can the bike be run with choke on? Whereabouts is the tach when you have choke fully on?
2.) How long are you waiting to warm up the bike?
3.) How is the throttle response with the choke on?

Next:

Open up the carbs. Since you tore down the carbs you could've very easily misplaced an o-ring or not installed something correctly, resulting in this problem.  If you even think you're missing something, order two carb rebuild kits and start rebuilding them. The problem is definitely somewhere in your carb circuits.

If you don't mind me sidetracking the thread for a moment, where did you get your new intergrated taillight? Also pics please?
