Put up a sign. Thought of in the alley - but didn't want to draw too much attention from would-be thieves.
So it is over the sidewalk between the "cave" and the attached carport. Found it on-line at Sears. Has a really nice old school look to it. There is a matching wall clock inside the cave.

Loving that sign!  Good call on placement too.

Here's the clock. I like it! Gives the place more character

Printed out wiring diagram 24x36 on waterproof paper. Now have "E" and "F" wiring diagrams posted on garage door for handy reference.

The "Bike Cave" is up and running. Today it had a visitor: Zute72 with her newly acquired GS. We put in some missing screws in the fairing and the 2 that hold the end of the rear fender. Also noticed some plastic caps on screws were missing so put those on. To end the visit, her bike got a shiny new stainless steel chain guard. Fun afternoon! The bike cave is doing what it was intended to do: help bikes.

Last week Centuryghost came to the cave and took the good wheels off of the "donor bike".

Order a bunch of stuff from me and it will spread out the shipping so the postage is not so painful.

You could get me an airline ticket and I'll gladly bring them and install them for you over a beer

Hey cods if you get a guard Ill get one too and adidas can you chuck in that safety switch I PM'd you about?

I think were gonna need a cave down under, whos volenteering there garage or shed? (Not me)
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Certainly worth thinking about getting a bulk order for us local guys for cheaper freight

NEW TOOL!
Bike Cave gets the real, official Suzuki fork tool with all the attachments. Sweet! Now I can rebuild the newer forks! (The right way!)

Also got in a NOS right hand control for Junior to go with his NOS 19989 bars and clip-ons. Now I need to find a NOS left hand control.

Pictures will follow tonight.
Thanks to help from AuburnGSfan, the Bike Cave now has a Harbor Freight bike lift.
Pictures will be posted later tonight.

Harbor Freight has bottle jacks so cheap you can buy two!

The garage is great, the floor is great.  The irony is I built one when we got the GS.  Built an 8x12 shed complete with a window I scabbed from a condemned house in town (it was being demolished).  It had a nice ramp and two layers of 5/8 plywood for strength.  I loved it even in winter because I had a kerosine heater I could fire up for a few minutes to warm things up.  I hung out in that shed for many hours.

Where I live now I have a 2 car garage.  It has many advantages to my old shed, like a 20 amp circuit that only powers the washing machine so I can use it for welding, better lighting, and a beer fridge.

Here it is. Reviews said the front wheel chock was crappy. I bought the floor model front wheel thingy and with the help of AuburnGSfan, drilled and bolted it on. I can take off and use that on the ground then put the original wheel chock on the lift.

I do find it helps to have 2 people put a bike on and off. One to move it and one to be sure it doesn't fall over. Then you should tie it down - one to tie down and one to sit on it and keep the bike from falling. I suppose the wheel chock on there would hold a bike while tieing down, but I don't want to risk that with my babies.

Bike cave is now pretty much complete - except for putting everything away and in its place. A little messy right now.

Bolting on the floor type wheel chock and getting the parts correctly positioned for a 17" tire.

Junior got the first ride!

Hmm that engine cover gave me an idea. addy, next time you get your hands on abatch lmk. that would armour my scooter starter very nicely. also plan on installing a crash bar on it.
