well i finished a long day at work on friday adn i was headed to my gf house, i was a block away adn i made a sharp leaned 90 degree right turn and the back tire started to slide out from under me. i was calm adn leaned the bike up and ended up making a wide turn, ok so now i was almost to her house when i made another sharp right and it happened again!! then it scared me. i dont think anything is wrong with the bike, but it still scared the crap out of me!! :o one day ill go down, and im pretty sure it will be, because im was doing somthing stupid.

When it just "doesn't feel right", or you're not concentrating, or you heart is pounding because you just had a close call... just pull over and take a break.  Check the pressure in your tires, and inspect them for punctures; call somebody on a cell phone just to chat; or study a bit of your homework if you've got it with you; or do some grocery shopping at the nearest convenience store.

You'll probably shake that feeling soon enough, and when it feels right, then hop back on and ride.

I also had a coupla close calls yesterday night on the ride home from a buddy's house in the country.  On one turn off, there was about half a wheelbarrow load of gravel in the road.  (Mental note:  get a better headlight!) I tiptoed through at near walking speed.  Then, an Old Bastid in a Lincoln Town Car pulled out of a local tavern right in front of me (Mental note:  get a louder, more menacing horn!).  After having to follow him do 27 in a 30 for a half mile, I blasted around him at the earliest opportunity (Mental note:  make gloves with flashing LED left middle finger!)  I've been riding long enough to shrug it off quickly and enjoy the evening before the bugs come out.

When a tire starts sliding for no apparent reason, its trying to tell you its time to replace it, even if there is still meat on the carcass...

Excellent idea! I've been trying to find a place to mount the big-@$$ "a-ooga" horn my friend has lying in his garage. That's harder than you'd think.

Some old lady pulled out in front of me today, I slid to a halt about an inch from her car, blasting the horn the whole time. SHE NEVER EVEN LOOKED. Sometimes, especially with the way my life is going lately, I consider just letting them hit me. Make a profit off insurance. They're suspending my license for the next 3 months, so it's not like I'm going to need a bike anyway. Might as well spend those 3 months in the hospital...

Ohhh... that's really lame!  Sometimes getting a ticket is the luck of the draw, unless you did do something stupid!  2 tickets in 2 years... That's strict!

Advice: Next time, take it easy on the roads and stay away from this guy

is 85 in a 65 when the cop followed up the onramp considered stupid? then, yeah, i did do something stupid.

didn't know he was a cop, honest! he didn't have a light bar, it just said STATE POLICE across the windshield. i couldn't read it, thought it said JL AUDIO or some crap...
