Putting on the R&G frame sliders

I'm planning to put on the R&G frame sliders today. Thought I'd ask those who have already done it:
Should I go hunting up an engine jack or something? Given that it requires taking TWO bolts out, that are holding the engine in? :D

Or is it going to be just fine on the kickstand (or centerstand?)  while I do this, with nothing else needed?

R&G require only 1 bolt to be removed, unless you bought something from R&G that I've never heard of, or you don't have the R&G sliders.
Just the upper front bolt is removed, and as you remove it you slide the other one in so technically a bolt is never really out.
If something does require 2 bolts, you just do one at a time. As long as the bolt is there, even if not tight, the engine can't fall out.

I didn't even slided the bolt in while removing the other, the engine holds up without no problems with the bolt out. At least mine did.
I did that about 4 times at least, I was having a problem with the sliders spinning so easily that above ~80kph it would spin from the wind alone

Thanks!

I wasnt exactly worried about it "falling out" really.. more along the lines of  the engine resettling inconveniently. Thanks for the reassurance!

yeh, you dont need any jacks or anything unless the frame is bent

ACTUALLY.... the engine did slip a little :( I tried pushing in the old bolt, with the new bolt. But it still slipped at the crucial first spot.
But it could be levered up a little back in place with a crowbar, so that worked out okay.

Other important things to know, when installing the R&G frame siders, aka "crash protectors", CP0158BL

I installed it using the centerstand.

The nut on the original engine bolt was CRAZY tight (14mm, btw).
Even with a wrench and hammer, it wasnt going well. Happily, a neighbor had a loong-handle wrench thingie, so we got it off that way.

The little black things on the inside of the frame, between engine and frame, are not attached to the engine. they are loose. So they can fall out if you dont keep something in there at all times :D

Additionally, the intermediate tightener thingies (on the outside of frame, but inside of the black 'shrooms), take a 21mm wrench, to truly tighten them to the frame.

NOWHERE IS THIS MENTIONED IN THE DOCUMENTATION. Or even that they exist or need tightening at all!

Finally... the bolts to tighten the 'shroomies, need a long socket holder thingie, because they are so deep. I forget what size :( but I didnt have that one either, a neighbor fixed it for me.

Engine shouldn't move if the other engine bolts are tight. Its held in there at 3 points - so maybe your other engine bolts were lose.
I've done 3 bikes. Just pushed the old bolt out with the new one. Nothing fell off and engine didn't drop at all.

Mmm. well, they dont FEEL lose. i dunno
