When did the tachometer switch from the mechanical type to the electrical pickup type.  I have an 89 that I have put a 09 engine in and I have everything except the tachometer.  I am trying to locate one on Ebay and there is one that has a smashed housing and speedo but the tach appears to be ok.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=150666577416&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_2272wt_1165

Just off the top of my head I want to say it was like around the 00 to 01+ change up.. Let me see if I can find out.

Edit: Looks like at leas in the us they changed over from 04+.
