Howdy,

My friend has a 2001 GS500 and recently had a tip over. She busted the cluth lever. As expected, it was only about $10-15. We thought it might be a good idea to have a spare for each side. It turns out the brake lever was a whopping $60!!  :o  Where do folks get these things for a reasonable price? That is like four times what I paid for a brake lever on my VFR 800!

The GS has a Nissin master cylinder. Nissin has supplied many OEM's with master cylinders over the years. The brake lever is the same for practically everybike that uses the Nissin master cylinder.

I have a small stock of Lockhart Phillips brake levers designated for the '96+ GSXR600. These levers fit on the GS as well as my other racebike (that shall remain nameless). Both have the Nissin master cylinder but the masters were provided on two different brands of bike.

They're way cheaper than $60 and they're adjustable, too!

Hey Greg are you willing to part with a Lockhart brake lever? Or do you have a link where these are available?

You can call Holeshot Motorsports at 800-232-5382 and ask for Bill. Tell him I sent ya so he can charge ya double. ;)

I can confirm part# tonite when I get home.

Also, LP products are generally available through your local retailer.

a aftermarket brake lever is usually under 25 bucks at a bike shop and they are adjustable.
