I took my 91 out riding yesterday and when I brought it back to the garage I noticed it was leaking pretty good from the right fork slider (I think that's what it's called) seal. So, I plan to change these on both the left and right, anyone know where I can get a pair for a decent price?

Also, how difficult of a job am I looking at? I have a Clymer manual, but just wanted some real world input.

Thanks,
Scott

Here are some urls of other recent discussions on the subject.

Many people install progressive springs at the same time as changing their fork oil and/or replacing the seals, so some touch on that as well.

Will i need to remove fork oil to install Progressives?

The most useful to you if you are replacing the seals is Bad day wrenching on the GS which discusses various ways to loosen the bolt on the bottom of each fork.

Good luck, and if you have any specific questions, post them here.  I've done it fairly recently, so I'll keep an eye on the forums.

Great news! I just saved a bundle on car insurance by switching to a motorcycle!
