I figure it would be interesting to read what others think about riding. I'll start:

I love riding when.....

The Sunday Drivers aren't on the road yet, the air is clean and fresh but not chilly and the flora is green, with a couple of friends, heading to a little known destination for lunch.

I love riding when.....
I'm on the back country roads with big hills and twisties with zero traffic (which happens a fair bit)
slightly modded 09 Gs500f
pro taper contour handle bars
sv650 headlight
gsxr750 forks
sv650 tail
gsxr wheels
two brothers slip on (gsxr 1000)

On a ride with mates wind in the hair, smooth road, no cops, little or no traffic, and twisty roads.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

ohgood

when the sun burns my skin, or the wind steals my breath.
when the wife gives a squeeze of my thigh.
when the sun full up/down yet.
when the kids are down for afternoon naps.
when the mates are ready for fun.
when i'm done with a wrenching hour or three.
after school.
after work.
after lunch.
you name when, i just love to ride.

i still grin just as stupid and wide with every single ride as the first:

and just so no one forgets, it's absolutely nothing to do with -what- you ride, but just that you do.

bangin thread man, hope it sees some good stuff.  :thumb:

I love riding when
...I need to escape the world for a while
...I want to fill in time
...the roads are twisty
...the traffic is heavy and I can escape easily through it but the cars can't
...the weather is nice
...its pissing down rain
...parking is hard to come by
...its daytime
...its night time

I really love riding on empty twisty well lit roads at night.

I love riding when...

...the sun has gone down, the street lights have come on and the cars have left the streets. Riding through the city and suburbs has a special magic to it at that time. An extra sense of freedom in a normally constricted environment perhaps. The people at sidewalk cafes and eateries, those entering or leaving cinemas, those heading out into town for the night, people walking home with a couple bags of groceries, those walking their dogs or going for their daily evening walk to keep their systems flowing. The various smells of dinner cooking as they waft into the helmet as you ride along the street. I love it.

Don't hate me.....

Driving on A1A along side the beach that spans for about 20 miles in 82 degree weather. Then it leads into the intercoastal on one side and mega million houses on the other side where I can relax and just listen to the sound of the engine and smell the sweet ocean air. Trees form a canopy over the 2 lane road and it makes for a peaceful easy thinking ride up to the ocean inlet wear I stop to watch the boats come cruising in and try to deal with a quick moving current. Then I ride home.

Sorry all but this is south florida :flipoff:

This.

I love riding when 40 people show up for a rain riding clinic (and we only had one crash (in my group, figures)).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

Ghostrider_23, you're living the life man. I used to drive up A1A on a Sunday evening when i lived in Ft. Lauderdale. That is one of the most beautiful drives ever. Wish i had a bike back then.

I love riding when...

there is lots of traffic just to be a total Di*k and cut in front of the line at the stop light just to take off as fast as your little GS500 can go.
