hi guys, so it my time to do my gs and give it a good look again :D

so this is what it looks like

and this is what it looks like now

so i need some help to chose the new color of the frame, tank and plastics

what do you guys think would be the best colors?

Tombstones81

Wish my bike was that nice before I ripped her apart.

or else u have the same case as me and it simply looks better in a pic and bad up close in person. haha

since you didnt mention repainting the rims, & if you dont plan to.
I would say something that goes with the white rims.

honestly have no idea what to suggest as I like the look of it in the pics.
its a nice mesh of silver/grey & black.

mine tho.
going with a pretty dark red for the plastics, tank, rims (or maybe black), engine, pegs, chain, & whatever else mesh's good and a black frame.
was enjoying the bare metal look when I stripped the tank but it would be too much hassle among other reasons, so im stickin with the black and red.

but theres a red & black bike in my thread as an example if u wanna take a gander at that color scheme

yap, up close it is all messed up

i like the look of that bike red and black, its a good look, also was thinking of keeping with the black tank and plastics but instead of a plane black, i think a metallic black would be sick, and for the frame and rims give it a darker metallic gray.

how about with this layout give it some red personalisation like on the disc brakes, pegs and other small pieces, or will this just be to much??

I like the monster dark type look ... however I actually call it negative bike ... frame bright red, plastics and tank flat black ... or heck screw that flat black, do the frame in red. The rest is the stock black.
Cool.

Actually plan to do that with mine.

additional items so far that will be red will be the pegs, grips, & chain.
Triple clamp and around the gauges will be painted as well, either black or red. (they just need a painting)
anything else I will check out when I put the bike back together and visually see what will mesh good.

http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=55996.0  is what gave me some ideas on painting diff odd and end parts as well.

and if your looking for something Different.

The red im going with is the Retro Red.

not much to choose from but its def. a lil different then normally seen (at least by me)

so just painted the frame and swing arm in a dark metallic gray this is what i got, i think it looks awesome compared to stock

one of the hard parts for me is done, now i'm going to start to build her up slowly and paint some parts.

just got 1 question, does anyone have any suggestion on how to strip the motor down? is it just a lot of time and hard work or is there some way around this?

Tombstones81

Looks good!

No idea on the motor.

A spot of mine came off pretty easily with 600 grit sandpaper when I was just curious how easily it would come off.

So I plan to just use aircraft stripper that I have to get off or loosen what I can then use sandpaper to take it all off.

what is going to be a pain in the a...... is the fins, but the best thing to do really is take of what i can, remove all the grease and pain over, may be the best way, BTW I'm painting it in black again,  but in mate black, o think it will look better

werase643
