Riding.

Just picked my 1998 GS500 up last week and its now my daily commuter.  Need to get its paint touched up and some new blinkers... but that'll wait for a bit.

Lots of good info here, so I have a lot to read!

Had to sell my bike because I left for the Air Force.  I still occasionally post in Odds and Ends.

Still riding to work most days, despite temperatures not getting above low 30s in the last few weeks.

Oh, that's degrees Celcius!

Still riding daily. Winter in Australia never stops anyone but it is nice and warm at the moment with summer getting started.

Already Torn apart as im sure everyone knows from my recent large # of threads asking for help.

& I second the statement of NEVER getting rid of my GS.
not unless something happens where it HAS to be junked.
My very first bike and I dont have many first items still so this one I plan to keep forever.
even if I have to replace the motor many times down the road.

& im on here religiously!
TONS of great people and helpful things of ALL sorts.  :thumb:  :thumb: 2 thumbs up for this site.

Riding daily but it will be over soon for a couple of months. Had the first snow flying here last Thursday so I should probably give the bike a good cleaning before winterizing and putting it away.

I'll be reading the forum to see what the lucky ones that ride all year are doing and I'll be back on the bike as soon as the weather allows it.

Read here daily....  but just winterized the bike.  May be calling on you guys for help with some simple tasks.

Plan to change the sprocket, shock, handlebars and install a modified headlight this winter.  The chain already has a little bit of slack in it, so when I put on the new sprocket, I'll probably be checking with the forum on tips to readjust the chain.

Glad to have all of you guys here...

because there seems to be less traffic/threads in here than there use to be. Are people out riding their bikes or have they sold them and moved on? It seems to me that there are about 12 regular posters on here and the threads have slown to a snail pace.

So I would like to do a roll call.

Please let us know where you are with your GS......... :dunno_black:

Steady riding.
Broke down
Laying it up for winter
Tearing it a part
Too busy working
You get the drift

No need to speculate just go to forum stats and scroll down to Forum History for the facts.  More posts, more new members, more everything than last year; we continue to grow here at gstwins forum.  You'll note just above stats that I'm high on the list of most time online so even though I don't post as much I'm still watching you.   :icon_lol:

I don't do anything to my bike over the winter except ride it as much as weather permits but I'm tapering off a bit on the winter riding now due to age.  Haven't gone out riding as much last couple winters, 40F is the new 20F for me now.   :thumb:

I'm new to the forums (& to riding period lol).. but I do ride my bike everyday! Well at least 5 days a week. Just not doing anything noteworthy to post about. But as soon as I do I will make some posts. I post a lot more general info on the GSTwin Facebook page though.

Got mine 89 stored for the winter, just got new pegs, and side clutch cover. Going to put them on during winter. Have to have some pieces machined for the pegs. Trying to decide if i am going to sell or have the motor gone through and rebuilt. We'll see after the move.

I've had some other (non-bike) issues I've been dealing with, haven't got it on the road this year, hope to next year, need to clean the carbs and drag it down for inspection, but snow has been here and will be returning for real sometime not too far away.

Read sporadically. What I usually have to contribute is all there in the archives anyway (ie, most of it I've said more than once - mysterious starting problems and clutch switches, re-covering seats, wearing full gear and avoiding boots with laces, changing fork springs, and un-de-restricting exhausts with soup cans....)

I always ride. I love it too much to give it up due to a seasonal change.
