I don't understand what scratchboaard is. Sound like paint board black then scratch off paint so picture leaved behind. My uncle do something like this at easter but with eggs. he die them then scratch off die to make pictures on eggs. This is good work. be proud to hang in homes

That's fairly accurate to what scratchboard is.  The actual piece that is being "drawn" onto is a piece of white clayboard that has been painted black.  The artist then scratches lines and designs into it using a needle and/or some type of blade, exposing the white underneath.  The finished product of hours and hours of scratching into the board is a black and white image, to which color is then added.  My wife uses an airbrush to add color, but any number of coloring techniques may be used. 

does she do this on spec?, i mean if i were to submit a picture could/would she do one? she is amazing btw, my compliments to the chef. my art is in jewelrymaking, hers is in this. ( working on motorcycle tire tread rings lol. ) btw dig up a user here called jewfzr this persons art is QUITE amazing as well. ( member search. this person would post drawings he/she made on a regular basis
