Tail light looks good!  Is that just a brake light or is it one of those brake light/turn signal tail light jobs?  Also, how does it compare to the stock as far as brightness, does it use bulbs or LEDs?  I put clear stalk style turn signals on my bike and have been thinking about a clear tail light like yours so everything matches up, just wanted to get your thoughts on yours.

Oh and do you mind if I ask you what it set you back and where you got it?  Was it this;

Firstly, sorry for the long post.  :oops:

Thanks fraze. It's a LED brake/turn/tail combo, although at the moment I haven't hooked up the turn signals.
I've gone smoke, and have turn signals to match on the way.

The link you've got is to the LED brake/tail version only I believe.
The link to the one I got is ... http://stores.motolume.com/-strse-100/%28INTEGRATED%29-04-dsh-09-GS500F/Detail.bok?category=Suzuki+Tail+Lights%3AGS500
Cost me US$32.00 to get it posted to Australia. I imagine postage to Canada wouldn't be that bad though.  :icon_lol:
It's real easy to fit too.

:icon_exclaim: Just a heads-up though, I had to use a round file and file out the holes in the PCB a bit, as they didn't quite line up with the tail light screw holes - not a deal-breaker - just a minor bit of tolerance in manufacture I think (be careful not to file down to the copper track on the PCB though - PM or email me if you want more info on this - am happy to explain in more detail - with pics too  :) ). Also had to replace the original lens screws, as the lens on this one is shorter than the stock lens.

I haven't got out the light meter from work yet to check the difference between the original and the new LED tail/brake lights, although I have my suspicions that it's not quite as bright, but not by much. Hopefully the fuzz won't pick me for it.
:icon_exclaim: Also, you'll have to sort out something for your licence-plate light, as the replacement doesn't have licence-plate lighting.
I decided on this... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BOBBER-CHOPPER-LED-LICENSE-PLATE-LIGHTS-/160712564628?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item256b371f94 ...but haven't fitted them yet.

Overall I give it  :star::star::star::star:

I buy from these guys in Germany.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/lights4all/m.html?_nkw=gs500&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313
They're certified for use under German law, so they are good. I have them on all my bikes - tail lights as well as smoke turn signals.
The tail light is a complete unit - just take off OEM and put their tail light ion.

Just got in a set of signals and tail light for Phenix!  :woohoo: And other stuff!

Gonna be putting the oil pan/ gaskets back on Flick. Thank God I did that when taking the top end apart we coulding find a dime sized washer. Guess where it was? Yeah, imagine the fun starting flick up with a metal washer in the engine  :o. I think maybe 5-6 hours of work and he will be back! I can't wait weather has been mid 70's all week and this all that goes through my head!

You mean the "C"clip keeps coming off the pin and the pin holding in the peg comes out? I have a couple in my parts box with a hole for a cotter pin. The rest have a groove for a C clip.

WHAT DID I DO TODAY: Nothing special for my bikes. But I did make a few shipments of needed parts for other members' bikes. Does that count?

Nope. On my 919 it's part number 27 - left side pillion peg 4mm screw thing. Without it part number 1 keeps spinning around. Odd thing is, the right side has a different set up. No space or mechanical reason for it that I can see.

Strange. Looks like the washer and cotter pin would keep it in place. Try a 5mm screw and a hammer  :technical:

Nah, he had it single seat rego. So I had to get Brian Harper out to verify my dual seat mod and make me a Dual Seat Mod plate so I could then get it dual seat rego-ed. I'm just thankful when the PO went to single seat he didn't drill out the threads like you are supposed to do.

@addy You would think it doesn't spin, but it does. So maybe that small bit was an afterthought by Honda once they discovered it was spinning.  :dunno_black:

Red locktite has done the job nicely  :thumb:

Blew the dust of of Taarna by riding up and down I-5 on the way to school. I reckon it's time to buy some non-perforated gloves and put the liner back in my overpants if I'm to keep this up.

Well an update on mine. I've changed my clutch with ebc fibers and Barnett metal plates with a new rotor seal and thrust bearing, and heavier duty clutch springs. Ive also upgraded my front brake line to a braided line with an 05 caliper, and new seals in the front master cylinder. And to cap it all off I washed my bike this arvo getting ready for a 850km ride tommorow.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

It's not really 850km. Closer to 650km for you - home to end destination back to home. If I was doing the entire run it'd be 670 or so for me. My part would be about 420 as it is - but - I'll be making a detour after breakfast so will end up doing a tad over 500 for the day.

If this is your first Big one Aussie, take some panadol with you. By the end of the day your muscles will be starting to freeze up. A couple panadols will help them stay relaxed. And remember, small leg micromovements, waist, neck, etc., Before you start to feel uncomfortable or cramped. And ear plugs. You'd be surprised how much fresher you feel on a LONG ride if you wear earplugs.
