Hi,

Been a while since ive been on here but I was planning on returning my bike to stock, the engine at least. I am running an R6 rear shock which has the piggyback reservoir but I need to cram the stock airbox in their too. I have heard that the two dont fit together. Does anyone know how they can be made to fit. Is the Stock Airbox a thermoset plastic so if i were to try to melt and stretch it would it not work?

Thanks

Stock air box with R6 shock on Adfalchius' bike.  Tight fit but doable.

They fit. The R6 shock will rub on the airbox a little, but not enough to be a concern. The newer shocks (08+, IIRC) don't rub.

I just stuck my airbox back in and it looks like about 3-4mm clearance. Tight.... but it fits.

Perfect!

No I am not selling the bike. Just dont have the care to spend countless hours jetting the carb, tuning, etc for 2 hp from the lunchbox. I dont have an exhaust and the tuning is a PITA with just the filter. Id rather have a nice running bike, which is only slightly slower than one that has a lunchbox.
