how does this site compare to other bike specfic sites, such as katanaplanet,  ninja250.net, sv650.org, etc..

I like this this site, better than 250.net, i put it in same category as katanaplanet.

This board needs more emoticons!  Smileys for the proletariat!

Other than that, I really like this board.  Katanaplanet is a pretty good site too :)  I just recently joined the Tri-State Sportbike board to find more riders in the NY area... Well, they can be pretty funny, but lots of times totally incoherent and squidly    make that most of the time...

Here I find the people down to earth, very very helpful, friendly, and the quality of the posts on the board are top notch :)

ps - need more smileys!

Good mix of people.  It's addictive.  Some worry too much and should ride more.

Unlike what I've seen on the 250/500 BBS or even the YZF or other "squid boards" (Katanaplanet, gixxer.com, etc), which are high on opinion and have lots of rather uninformed newbies with very few helpful, knowledgeable folks, this community has several VERY knowledgeable posters, and most seem more mature than usual. I guess its the kind of people the GS attracts.  ;)

Oh and the signal to noise ratio is mercifully low on this board.

yeah i notice that on other boards, especially the cycleworld board, people are farming stars/posts etc.. to get a better board post count, im glad i don't post that often, cause im out riding instead of trolling the boards, unless im at work like i am now

Oh yeah... I dunno how many boards are teeming with Post Whores (no offense, Pantablo!   ) They'll just pipe in with a 'Cool' or 'Hello' or 'thatz da shiznit, yo!' and not say anything useful.  Come on... at least say something meaningful, even if you're just giving your opinion :)  Most people here with tons of posts are actually trying (sometimes unsuccessfully) to help out in whatever way they can  :thumb:

I absolutely cannot stay away from this board! Expecially, now that I have received my new title which goes very well with what my faux licence plate states!

I'm pretty new to the board and haven't gotten much responses to my posts of a few questions I put out.

I hate to say it, but I'd give it a 5 out of 10.  Then again, I'm spoiled to death over at www.tlplanet.com  Those guys are great and get you the correct answer literally within minutes 95% or more of the time!

The gixxer.com board blows goats!

dgyver

Yeah you (& myself) have been spoiled by TLP. There are times here that it takes a while to get responses and sometimes do not get any. But being a board for a bike that has been dubbed a beginners bike, the vast knowlege is limited to a few veterans. A lot of information does come from racers which we all should be thankful they do post here. This has been a polite board. I do not go to the squid boards since they only want to talk trash. Maybe because they are scared to ride or just want to boast their ego?

Its one of the better boards out there. Liek was said,"signal to noise ratio is good". I also go to Maximum-suzuki.com and they're a good, mature, knowledgable group there too.

I will be torn now that I'm shopping for a superhawk. There's no board for that bike, just a mailing list...you guys might not get rid of me so fast after all.

I like it here!  I've been on Katana Planet (as I also have a Kat) but there are too many people and too many discussion groups (although they were helpful to me).

I have had a couple of posts go unanswered on GStwin but ... whud'ja gonna do.  I have also had a lot of great answers and help.

Id say 9/10. gstwin loses a point because of my Avatar debacle, and the name John assigned me. Oh yah, some people piss me off.

TLplanet... gimme a break... this da schnitz Yo!... Never mind... never been to TL planet... but I check here for all issues regarding all bikes... my 535, my eliminator, my vulcan... etc all ahve been fixed with the help of folks here... The vulcan people are the best at choosing saddlebags and fringe... right up there with the Harley people. The 535 groups are OK but not that focusses on the 535... cos the bigger virago's dominate that group. The eli site is fine but traffic is low... So the GS site rules... Went to banditalley.com. and there were like a million commercial links and posts I had a hard time searching for what I wanted.
Cool.
