Woo friggin hoo. Well, it's started over here. Dang papers publishing stories how some towelheads, whining indigenous doinks and other do-gooders think waving Australian Flags on Auatralia days makes you racist. Um... ok... to those who object.... if you don't like it, leave.

Darn!  Thought I would get my dose of international culture with an Aussie video.  But the owners must have some racist views against us Yanks.

G'day all. Just a quick report from the GodZone. Despite it pizzin down we had a ripper day Oz Day down here in the Shire. Barbeque going strong, lamb sizzling, snags spluttering, an the coldies flowing free.  An THE FLAG was flyin good. Sum good music too - AccaDacca, MeatLoaf and even a bit of Foster for the People, real good entertainment, we said. Had the op to chat to a few bonzer shelia's who gave me a bit of a heads up for the Sat'day hop with the vicar down the community hall. Only dodgy bit was with the weather like bein a bit crook,  the ladies weren't sporting the ol norks out in the bikinis as usually expected. Sorta bit of a dis cos that Denise from two doors up was ther. Still, always got next year for a bit of a holiday perve, init?

Had a problem with the radio on top of the wheeliebin tho, had to turn it off. Real bad reception on the digital down here - something to do with the radiation leaking outta the Argie built reactor at Lucas Heights, the local environment guru was saying. No worries tho, they thought they wer goin to give the Barden Ridge kids iodine pills, someone said.  Anyway, couldn't hear properly but sounded like the RedHairBossLady has put up some actor bloke by the moniker of Rush as Top Oz of the Year. An it sounded like e had a call to arms for all the other Ozzie arty pointy head types to get goin and write up some real good stories about why the refos are all on the way out here an how good that is and they are, an all that.  Me oppo, Jeffo said that cud be real hard cos they'd need to no real big words and frases like Centrelink, an selfdetermined relocation decision making, an subsidised housing and all that. But I dunno, Jeffo is a bit cynical these days (ever since e got is $15,000 dental quote from Dr Kanh down the local health dump centre) and he ain't as  refined an multiculturally aware as wot me and my mates like Davo, an Crusher, an Flintock is.

But, anyhow, no worries, the main reason I'm calling in is to let ya know that the boys and me got a bit turpsed up on the VB an organised a proper vote ( real democratic like cos we no how big the Yanks are on democracy an all that an bringin genuine pluralistic systems of government that recognise the deep-seated needs of the individual, like ,and peace and drones and uvver things to Afghanistan an Iraq an, next month, to Iran and then maybe to poor ol PommyLand which is in deep poo up to its anus) and we decided 23 to 1 (I gotta let ya know that Hooksie is a real dissident since the boys decided to tell him to lighten up and stop shouting at his sis for dating up Abdullahi - he's from Mogadishu, real good bloke, loves a beer and a bit of whakky tobakkie an says e as been trying real hard to get a job since he got offa Christmas Island) to advise Warner Chappell and UMPG Publishing, via a prepaid  diplomatic cable from Menai PO, that they should rev up and furg orf.  How nice is that, eh?

Anyway, for Chrissss sake have a good hol , look after yerselves, drive safe an keep away from them double-demerit point, an don't overtorque yer nuts, an always - whenever advisable - wear a condom. Hey, me Mum's shouting something about if ya evet get involved or even lucky with the Warner Chappell girls an boys to doublebag, or something, I don't know what she's rabbitin on about, never been the same since she was on canteen duties with those 2RAR army boys up in Timor coupla years back.

Cripes, gotta go, the m-i-l as fallen into the pool an I gotta fish her out an give her mouf ter mouf, loverly grub, she's a right little cougar :-) oooooorrrhooooooooo boys.....appy olidays.....

Will they be burning effigies in the streets of Sehwag and his team? Least Kohli got a ton, would have been better if it was Sachin since he is on 99 centuries.

Actually sachin has been carried around well past his prime. I dont see any of these batsmen making through the next year.
They all need to retire and get into coaching. Though I think laxman has too poor communication skills to be a useable coach, dravid is too much of an introvert and sachin is almost considered royalty and would there fore not make a good coach cos he cannot motivate people.

Oh BTW our analyst sucks too, pity that is one thing we should be good @, its after all sitting @ a computer and formulating a plan. When catches fly into unmanned areas repeatedly that is an analysis failure.

Cool.

Funny you should say that cause we were talking (at work) about how Old the Indian team is. Not that the players are Old old, but in terms of them needing to retire so fresh blood cane come into the team and revitalize it.

Was looking like India was just going to bat to a draw, but with 6 gone in two sessions and a whole day left to get out another four, I cannot see India batting to a draw now. And how long will Sachin hang around now to get is 100th hundred? 4-0 whitewash is terrible.

Yea no chance of a draw, 4th innings, forget it.
The thing though, India lost 4-0 to england right, and england lost to pakisthan, this india team will beat this pakisthan team black and blue, on nearly any surface in the world. Odd, maybe the home field advantage is the widest in cricket vs any other sport.

Funny how that works. Some people/teams just have it over other teams. Maybe the opponents style suits them better or something. :dunno_black:

I knew three tennis playing brothers - Eric, Will and Dennis. Eric could Always beat Will, Will could always beat Dennis and Dennis could Always beat Eric.

Then there was the big cat, Miloslav Mecir who seemed to have it over the Swedish guys like Wilander and Edberg while everyone else was falling to them. Something about his game was anathema to the Swedes while other players could beat him more easily.

There was a Rugby League team down here. Let's call them Team A who seemed to have it over Team B. Thirteen times in a row Team B had lost to this other team. Even when Team A was languishing on the bottom of the table and was being beaten by all and sundry and Team B was leading the competition, the only losses Team B had was to Team A. It was the most unusual thing to see.

Not just that odd team vs team situation. That certainly is true. I am saying the home advantage is so huge I think.
Pakisthan and India are similar teams yea I'll grant you that, and the fact that UAE is subcontinent like, so it means they prepped a rough and dusty track. In the subcontinent the pitches are famous for being rough and dusty, and grass is what we feed our cows.
Once we get that part designed in the pitch, it will suit spinners from literally day 1. Then there is the opressive heat  and humidity we seem to need, have you seen the players wearing sweaters while playing ... yea we need sweaters at 90 degrees.
Anyway India has been on the road for over a year straight, SA, WI, England and Australia. Putting it all in context I think the home advantage is very much more pronounced. England losing to pakisthan is a serious eye opener IMHO. India was white washed in england, and england is heading that way in asia to essentially a weaker team.
Anyway I dont think too much of the 4-0 and 4-0 whitewashes, however the catches going into unmanned areas are a real failure. Heck the dropped catches come in second IMHO.

Oh yeah home ground advantage. Home Crowd advantage. I've sat on the fenceline when a ball hit by Our team comes our way. The geering that goes on trying to get the opposing fielder to misfield is tremendous. Geering, heckling, name calling, insults from the crowd.
