WELL!!!
As I said in the one for sale thread...
when it rains, it friggin POURS!!!

Very bad week has gone from Bad, to Worse!

Roommate is moving out by the end of Feb. and the place isnt worth staying there solo.

Already planned to start saving and looking as soon as I finished my bike but now that is ALL on hold.....

So pretty much for awhile, what you see is what you get.

Cant purchase anymore parts that I Dont have to.
Not buying new pegs, grips, fairings, LEDs, or anything else that isnt a Must to ride.

Going to just toss the stock pegs back on and finish my work and be done until who knows.....
Still need to check the valves and replace the rear tire tho.

everything else is a no go tho.
I just PRAY the engine work pans out good tho!
as I dont have any transportation to move it unless I rent a Uhaul van when moving or it moves on its own 2 wheels...

ugh what a way to ruin my night at work ><
wish I was home to get drunk...

guess its time to look up apts on craigslist.....

nah, I gotta get out of here...

and I might not have to put it ALL on hold now.

I do until I get my living situation situated tho.
so passing on that fairing and belly pan was a must.
I'll just buy the headlight fairing I linked in an earlier post once I get situated and not even bother with a belly pan for awhile.

Well, pretty PI$$ED off since I got the text.
As its always been, now im forced to do things I planned to later but have to soon because of someone else's BS and inconsideration.

Being realistic... one month isnt going to be enough to find the Right place for me solo.
I'm lucky if I find like 5 places worth looking into over the span of an entire YEAR!
Good freakin luck in one Month!!

So!
I'm movin back in with my mom and sis.
my moms getting up there in age and cant really take care of things so well anymore.
and my sis is a little slow and also went through a HELL of a battle with breast cancer.

so they can really use some help.

I was already contemplating it but what really ticks me off....
as Always, its not my final choice to go back, its my dang roommates...
like so many times before in totally different situations.

so, money has to be used to rent a truck or large van to move.

if everything pans out and the bike RUNS.
I can ride it and freeze my butt off for a 45 min ride to my moms.
then after situated, continue finishing it up.

Probably find out today if it starts and sounds all ok.
Oil pan gasket should be arriving today.

Friday I plan to get a feeler gauge to check the valves and a compression tester to make sure the engine is goin smoothly.

will update later.

man that blows! i really hate to hear that for ya.. hope the perfect place falls in yer lap soon!

if you want to use my mini valve kit(see east coast kerry kit for details) i'll be more than willing to ship it out to you ASAP
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

Tombstones81

tnx, I appreciate it.
should be good with the valves tho.

There is 2 Harbor Freight stores close by that im sure I can nab a cheap set of gauges.
and im pretty confident the salvage yard will have Cheap shims if I end up needing any.

Certain I will need the feeler gauges Im going to buy down the road with other bikes so I will just purchase my own set :)

and yes it does blow.
especially since if I move back there, no more warm area to work in.
at least not until I buy a shed.

But... of course!!!

she cranks, gets fuel, air, and spark.

but will Not kick over and start.
just crank crank crank crank....

pistons are moving too of course.

guess I wait til Friday and see what a compression tester says........

Tomb, which headlight fairing were you looking at again? It's a real pita on my phone to search for a link.......

If you would like, I have a quarter fairing you could borrow for a while until you buy the one you are looking at. I don't know exactly what the fairing I have is for, but it's not the cheap "Emgo cafe fairing".

I like those I think they kind of combined the Suzuki fairing and the Targa fairing and came up with that.Looks good.I haven't seen adidasguy's red bike,I don't think.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Tombstones81

heres adidas red bike I was talking about.
Im pretty sure he said the headlight fairing was the same one as I listed that was on one of his bikes when he bought it.
I got the link from one of his posts for the fairing anyways  :thumb:

Oh yeah.I saw his bike.I was thinking his was sold factory red.I didn't realize his was the two tone red and black. He does have some sweet GS5's.

I believe his fairing is the one you linked to that is blue.I see they have multiple colors available.May look into them myself.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

Tombstones81

yep, isnt too expensive either.
pretty much $100 for that and the belly pan is about the same.

yeah I clicked on the red but the sample pic doesnt change colors.

and thats why I offered $100 to start on the headlight fairing an belly pan in the for sale thread.
they are used, old, and in dire need of a fresh paint job.
so I didnt think half of the brand new cost was a bad offer.

so much for that tho, its all good tho, as long as I get this sucker running first!

No news on getting it running?  Air, fuel, and spark and nothing?  Not even a burp or pop?  Something's missing out of that equation,....I know you got a lot going on, just anxious to see you get it running big timer.

not Yet.
I prayyyyy its only a fuel or air issue.

its def not the spark.
I got my old plugs, brand new ones, and ones that u left in the head cbr, which also look brand new.
I also did all the things to check for proper spark.
cranked it with the plug out, checkin the actual spark.
changed plugs.
also peeked down the intake tubes when I took the carbs off and cranked it, seen both sparking just fine.

So im praying its something with the carbs.

JUST got home an hr ago from work and stopping down my dads, so I havnt been out to monkey with it.
I will in a few hours tho, im just sittin here chillin for now.

(edit)
there is some popping.
I think it might be getting too much fuel or something.
the first pop when I first started cranking it was funny tho.
Very loud pop from the muffler and a flaming fart came out of it and freaked the dogs out upstairs.
they started barkin like crazy hahaha

also what Might be messin with the carb setup, fuel/air etc is the new 06 exhaust I got is ALOT wider and more open in comparison to my stock 94.
at least the pipe where it goes from 2 to 1 and out to the muffler.
as my slip on goes in it now vs over my 94.
which makes me think maybe theres possibly alot more exhaust going out then there was with my 94 pipe.

and who knows, maybe the fuel is bad too.
it has sat since I first tried starting it and messed my valves up.
which did get put in an empty gas tank that has been sealed and sitting since Nov.

Well for those that didnt see my troubleshooting thread in the general section...

the intake valves are not closing all the way.
not sure on the exhaust valves as I have to take the exhaust off to check.

fairly certain I will have this all fixed tho.

did a TON of shopping to get through this crap this morning.

so, lets see....
we've got....
Brass Bristle brushes for cleaning the gunk off the bottom of the head and valves.
Lapper tool
Valve grinding compound
Feeler gauges
Utility Caliper measuring tool.
Needle file set incase I need to grind the bad spot on my old head and use that, which isnt Too bad and is on the inside, not the outside of the area on the bottom of the valves.
Compression tester
and some Mothers Back to Black.

after the movies
and then make some Piggies!!  :D

I should be knockin this problem the hell out of here  :thumb: Hoorah!
