Ryan, it didn't.  You need to upload your pic to an online hosting site first.  And traditionally, only pics taken after the challenge is posted actually count, I believe.  And Welcome Aboard 

Correct: after the challenge is posted , you need to go take the picture. Old pictures don't count. That's the fun: who can go take that picture first and post it!

If you do NOT want to register with a site, loads your images to imgur or tinypic. Both are free, require no email registering or anything and will give you a link you can use on the forum
