Everyone's bolt situation is somewhat different in some way.  Not only that, but I think whenever you break a bolt there is a need to vent about it.  Commiseration is some kind of comfort anyway.  If I get really bored and motivated, I've been thinking about compiling all the different suggests for getting out broken bolts or stripped threads into one FAQ.

Obviously,
you've not seen the thread about some guys fairing that went  missing next to his garbage can.

Sarcastic yes, harsh not as bad as over there!

BTW I've never broken the head off a bolt. I think it is the men and their manly man "power". If a bolt is starting to give you any issues why not use some PB blaster or other loosener before you kill the bolt with your "man power"

Doesn't take much strength to break a small bolt or strip threads out of aluminum.  Usually all it takes is impatience and/or the wrong tool.

The Buddha

In my defence the bolt was rusted ... the worst cases are those exhaust header bolts where there is air and moisture rotting out that section where the threads just start, that really is the weakest part and rust there = doom.
Oh wait a sec, my rusty snapped exhaust bolt thread was 5 years ago ...
Cool.

There is alot of stuff in my thread Mary about getting them out. I started it last year for this exact reason.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I don't think you understand man power. Man power really isn't something we can control. Sometimes we touch stuff and it just breaks. Sometimes I LOOK at bolts and they just snap.  :dunno_black:

Tell that to the bolt that I soaked in PB for hours, torched, and tapped that still doesn't budge.

When that happens, and still no joy, I start to worry.  The only other thing is keep soaking with pb blaster and hope it soaks in over a couple days.
