So had an off in the snow (got caught out in a blizzard) and smashed the cover of the pick up coils (right hand side, 3 bolts, round with suzuki badge)

Anyways i can't seem to find a replacement cover anywhere!! Obviously i can't ride around with the pick up coils exposed so where can i find a replacement? I'm UK btw.

do you still have the original piece? how badly is it smashed, the PO of mine high sided it on the side cover, got dented a little, Scratched real bad. I stripped the paint, sanded/ground the scratches out and tried to make it look as flush as possible. Took off the Suzuki logo, cause that was all screwed up. Cut out the right size shape to cover the hole, In a tin can ^_^ coke can to be exact, Flipped it over to the shinny side. Sprayed it with some etching spray paint, Painted it black, looks a hell lot better than it did before anyway.

I glued it on there with high heat glue gun, glue. If that part is getting 360+ degree's hot. well Than HOT DAMN let it fall off.. its only a tin can cut out and some spray paint.

Also its a tin can, Be careful. mine got stepped on, and I still used it. after spraying it with glossy paint, Found out it was a bad idea, if you can, get some of that hammered finished look spray paint, or something textured. Idk Don't do gloss tho. as it looks like crap.

Twisted

If you post a WTB stator cover post in the for sale section I am sure someone (adidasguy) will have one  :thumb:

A bike breaker in the UK should have one. Shipping would be more than buying a new one from a Suzuki dealer.
$40 or less new. $14 or less for the stick-on logo that goes on it.

Unfortunately jwalker i dont think i can salvage it. It literally snapped into 3 pieces :(

Adidasguy - i have just sent off a request to bike beakers hopefully i get something back.

If i can't find anything what do you suggest ?

adidasguy

First, contact a dealer or parts place. There are quite a few parts houses in the UK. I've even ordered hard to get parts from the UK.
Other option is order from rthe US and pay the shipping.
Third, many of us have used ones with scrapes and stuff. You could get one and clean it up & paint it. I know I have a couple in the drawer that I'll never use. They'd need the emblem or something round stuck on for the center piece that covers the hole. Probably get one for postage.

In all honestly im not worried about the state of it, aslong as it brings my bike to a reasonable working condition. The PO left the bike in a mess and ive had limited knowledge and funds to get it running. It's a pretty poor example of a GS but i need it for work etc.

If you have a cover laying about could you pm/post here with a price and postage to the uk?

I'd appreciate that if you could.

adidasguy

I remember a black one at the bottom of a parts drawer. It would need something to fill in the center circle (even apiece of tape). It would work. Not broken. Just some road rash and the emblem is missing. Not broken.
If you want it, international priority mail flat rate small box is $17 US.(Same for flat rate padded envelope)

Thanks adidas. Possible to get back to you in a day or two?

I need to see if i can get the bolts that snapped off in the clutch cover out, before i can think about screwing in some more.

It's 9.30pm here in the uk so i'll crack on in the morning and let you know if i can sort it. Cheers

Believe what he is looking for is the right-hand side cover.
