Why do men between the ages of 20-30 seem to have no brains?

Id like to think im an exception to the title of this thread. Im 23, and try to ride my gs responsibly.. or at least not like an idiot.
All the 'chavs' with their modified cars or scooters, not my thing, too lame. I ride in full gear, even in hot weather and try to keep it under 80. I said try..

Of course, there are those of a similar age that are exactly as the thread title suggests. I know a few of them, and am constantly surprised at their stupidity, general lack of common sense and the inability to see what the repercussions of their actions could be..

the lad that was originally complained about .. Him and his 40 Bazillion brothers! .. Its so common it IS the norm pretty much .. But Mary .. You let someone on the back without checking they knew the pillion rules? .. Or at least knew your rules? ..
And one thing a riding mate of mine said recently when i was complaining about group rides and feeling the dread of someone close behind being taken out if 'I' made a mistake.. "worry about your safety , you ride the line you want and if they get taken out with it then they ARE FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE WITH NO SAFETY BUFFER... Their fault!" .. Im only fairly new to legal riding myself .. But everyone knows the ASSUME rule .. Dont they? ....... Sorry caps not shouting just main point

Yeah,
your right I assumed I think I pretty much made that known in my post. I took for granted that a rider would have common sense. But, shouldn't a rider know these things from I don't know riding? Just as when you get in the car with someone driving. Do you ask them "Do you know how to drive?" Pretty sure you don't. If I have a friend that wants to ride pillion and has never been on a bike then yes we sit down for the talk.
Also, if I would have done what you advised. I would have taken both of us out because he was already beyond the double yellow. I will not go down just to prove a point.

Mary

P.S. I also have another observation from all of my years in security and observing people.  Most people assume that they are the exception to rule when in fact you are not you are like everyone else.

Mmm .. I was just sayin .. Not attacking .. Just so thats clear .. My phone dont let me do smilies on this site either for some reason .. But .. Probably not in a car straight away .. In my work truck if we have a new "driver" i even ask to see licence .. I havent pillioned anyone for ages and then not legally, but yeah i check every 1st time i have someone new behind me on the seat .. Rider or not .. Came off many many years ago .. From a dirt bike into a blackberry bush ..not ever again did i fail to ask.. Dont want to seem cheeky but i suspect you be asking too next time .. Rather be blunt that banged up!

See,

You proved my point you only start asking that after you suffered the consequences of not doing it. It is not something that is ingrained in one's mind. Find it interesting that you chide someone for making the same mistake that you also made. Instead of making a been there done that comment.
Your work vehicle is completely different from a personal vehicle. Shoot at my old job I had to check and make sure every person that came on property was completely legal to drive if they forgot their license they didn't come on property clear and simple.

Anybody on here actually check a friend's license before letting them drive you anywhere in a POV?
