Ok so I rejetted my bike. I used the poor mans rejet off the wiki and when I put it back together it ran like crap. After I got it started it was idling funny and surging back and forth between probably 1000 and 4000 rpm. when I went to ride it it had no guts under 4000rpm and it struggled to rev past 7000rpm. It would die when I stopped unless I kept it revved up really high and it bogged whenever I took off.
Now I think I screwed up a few things. In the pictorial I think it said to put the washers between the plastic doughnut and the clip.

My doughnut was stuck up against the clip so I just put the washers under it. The other thing is that I think I probably lost one of the little O rings that you are not supposed to lose. It was getting dark so I am just going to assume I lost one.

So I am going to take it back apart but if the little doughnut thing wont move will it at least be ridable if I just take the washers off and run it stock?
My bike is a 99 and when I rejetted I added a lunchbox and have D&D exhaust.
BTW the pics are from the Pictorial so just mentioning to give credit since they aren't my pics.

Pictures are broken...

Try uploading to imgur.com and then using the "direct link". :)

You've got an air leak. A substantial one at that.

Did you happen to lose the little o-ring pictured here:

Ok yes that was the O-ring that I thought I lost. Do you know what size it is so I would know what to look for.

Just be sure whatever you buy is safe for gasoline exposure! NITRILE or "Gasoline Grade" o-rings are okay. Lowe's does not carry any sort of gasoline resistant o-ring as far as I know. NAPA carries individual NITRILE o-rings.

I can't quite make out the text on the Harbor Freight assortment but it appears they're NITRILE. Hopefully! :)

Good luck with it.

I replaced the O-rings and fixed the needles and it fired right up! It was still running kind of funny but I didn't realize that I had left it on prime and it was leaking gas out of the air filter. I switched it back to run and it looked like it stopped leaking so hopefully thats all it was.
