Ok I just installed the SV650 shock I bought for $70.00 practically new. Never done anything like this before and will probably never do it again. (what a pain in the ass) seriously though it wasnt too bad and what a difference. Ride height is now at least 2 invhes higher. (I'm 6ft so perfect) Havent taken it for a ride anywhere yet as its pissing down with rain.
Center stand now useless without a i inch piece of wood for support and side stand still ok for now but will lengthen it when Kijona sends me a spare.

Oh and my fingers are in the photo just to hide my rego.

I am not interested in anything you have to say

Today I installed new LEDs in my instrument cluster to replace the stock ones.

Thanks to adidas for the diode reference picture. Simple to follow and works perfectly.

Silly me ordered only 1 green t5 so I went to jaycar to buy another one but they only stock red white and blue. I grabbed a white one and it gives the kinda color you would expect. A white light with a green tinge.

Between running to the neighbours for tools and running upstairs a million times to grab something I needed, not to mention the lengthy period of time it took to file down the t10 leds for the guages by scraping them against a brick wall, (yeh I did that)  it took me all bloody afternoon to finish this.
It was a learning experience and I had to improvise a few ways to get some things undone but all in all I feel awesome for getting it perfect first go :)

I dunno of its normal but with the t10s I got the 4 radially mounted LEDs were too wide to fit in the housing so that's why I had to file them down. Dunno if the rough lenses has affected the brightness but I'm satisfied.

What are the part numbers at jaycar sgt?
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I brought home my newest addition. A 2006 DRZ400SM with 1500 miles :woohoo:

Seller's photo:

More photos to come, had to ride a 50 mile ride home wind gusts were +30mph easily. Wind was so rough, it took one of the plastic fairings on the tail off! Definitely had a blast and i learned a lot about that little beast. Itching for some warmer weather now!

standard t5's slip. they are not smd's but normal, domed led's

Link to jaycar T5's

i bought the white one which is in my blinker indicator, compared to a green smd from superbrightleds in the neutral one.

none of them appear as white in person. more color does show

they also sell t10's in the same 3 colors for older bikes

So today I pulled the carbs since the bike was really lean and had no power. Re jetted the carbs, added 2 #3 washers, changed the oil, installed a Katana rear shock, and changed out my Left Side Lower Fairing.

Glad to say the bike now has real nice power and the suspension feels much tighter.

A good days work but it paid off.  :D

Bought Flick a whole bunch of fuel lines and a set of front and rear brakes. Hopefully, they will be in by the time I get back from Boston on the 6th.

At that point will be synching the carbs, checking valve clearances, putting on the brakes and fuel lines. Don't get the OEM brake lines within two months they are already breaking down.

Did you jb weld the end back on so you didn't have to use a washer and all that?

Dresnewtoy

No, used JB weld on other end. Kinda didn't think about taking pictures when i was doing it. Hard to explain without pictures. If you're really interested, take yours apart, take a picture of all the bits and i'll tell you what i did.

Today I attempted to get those exhaust bolts out with my cousin again except it's not gonna work like he planned. We've decided the best thing would be to pull the motor and get to them in a straight shot.
