I read somewhere that another bike shared the same front brake pads as the 2001+ gs500

I THINK it was the sv650.

I'd rather pay less for a two pack, and I know I'm due for brakes.

There's a long list of Suzuki and Kawasaki bikes that use the same front brake pads that the 96 and later GS500E/F use.  A two pack for a bike with twin front discs probably has one right hand and one left hand set.  Only the right hand ones would fit the GS which has the brake on the right.
