Has anyone ever installed these (Clear Alternatives Integrated Sequential Tail Lights) successfully in their GS500?

I know they are pricey, but I think they could be nice. I still plan on running side rear signals as well, but I think it could be cool. I like how it seems to create visability from the movement of the lights. I googled the hell out of this, but cannot find a video of this on a GS500. I saw some of the other videos for other bikes, but they all vary slightly.

I might call the company tomorrow to see if they can snap a quick vid (if possible), but just want some advice here I guess.  8)

All over youtube

No. I had already seen that video. That tail in the video is not "sequential" - meaning that the brake and/or turn signals actually move in an animated sequence.

This is what I am referring to:

Edit: Sidenote - Are we able to embed videos in this forum?

That one you pointed out is not Clear Alternatives. It is by Moto Dynamics.
You were asking about Clear Alternatives, but gave a link to MotoLume.

Sorry. I'm confused because Clear Alternatives does not make a sequential one that I am aware of.

If you type in www.clearalternatives.com it will redirect you to the motolume site. From what I gather, they sell clear alternatives products...? Really not sure, but that is what I am finding. I was not able to find a better "direct website" for clear alternatives.

And the link I posted above goes directly to the sequential integrated tail.

Maybe this is a new product?

Should I just say forget this Clear Alternatives one? ... and get the Lights4all smoked out tail?

I just want to be safe and make sure cars can see me, while still looking decent.

Is the Lights4all tail bright enough? Are the LED's nice?

As it relates to the safety aspect, i have my concerns so kept my stock tail light. The park LED is pretty bright, but when you apply the brake the LEDs don't get that much brighter, so the driver behind you might not observe that you're braking. With the OEM light, you definitely get that great increase in brightness (intensity) when you apply the brake, so the driver behind you has little doubt you're braking.

These are just my observations of course. Maybe the newer LED taillights are better these days.

Another thing to keep in mind is tag lights on these (or lack thereof)... ticketing for no tag light has gotten popular in FL.... YMMV.

I just spoke with a rep from Motolume that sells the Clear Alternative Sequential tail. He said the sequence is exactly like the video on the main page of their site - similar to this video:

I think this looks pretty good, and would be quite visible. I think I'm about to pull the trigger on this one.

A few of us use the Lights4All. Pretty nice. I rode behind Suzi once when a friend rode her to the healer for service (while I had my tendon surgery). I found the tail light and turn signals looked really good.

Clear Alternatives does not light the license plate. Lights4All does.

Sorry for the dual threads.

Ok - That fact alone about the license plate light has sold me. I need to keep this as close to "legal" as possible. I'll go for the Lights4All (smoked). Thanks guys.

I also just ordered smoked rear signals, and smoked front flush mount signals. Also red wheel tape on the way.

I cannot wait for it to stop snowing, and to play with the bike.  :icon_mrgreen:

Keep in mind that stuff from Germany must meet the German standards for after market parts and replacement parts. They all come with German paperwork certifying they are legal for street use and meet the German automotive standards.

Stuff from Hong Kong can be any piece of crap and not meet any standards - DOT or otherwise.

I do not remember if Clear Alternatives meets DOT standards. I think they do except you have to light the license plate separately - which is legal to do.

Any integrated turn signals do not meet DOT requirements of at least 9" apart. If you leave on the OEM turn signals or put other ones on you're OK as long as they go on with the integrated signals. I had a Clear alt tail light and took it off (sold or gave it to someone on the board). I never used the integrated turn signals. I feel they detract from the brake light. How can someone really know if you're on the brakes if the tail light is blinking orange? (in my opinion).

Good points. I just ordered the Lights4All smoked tail from their ebay store that you have also. It's fun plugging some of the German emails into Google Translate and trying to read what they say. Can't wait to get it.
