Wow, I thought I'd get at least one person saying keep the bike. Well, ya won't be rid of me if I do, I still have my 07!

I'll call him tomorrow when I get home. We'll see what he says.

And yeah, the only thing I'd accept is cash. I've dealt on CL enough to know that, LOL!

Hey I said dont sell :flipoff: :bs:
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Which GS do you like more out of the 2 you have?

adidasguy

I take back what I said before.

Consider which you like more:
1. A little extra cash?
2. Your bike you put so much love in to?

You have a cool, unique orange bike. Is it worth a brief influx of cash? Maybe? Or how much to you love your bike? Will a new owner take care of it? Will you feel you sold out the love of your life?

Do you really think I'd sell Junior for any price?

How about $100.....LOL, JK.  Ad is right.  Its easy for us to say sell it because it isnt ours.  Think about it carfully.  I know that If I sold something that I cared about and found out later that it wasnt taken care of I would regret it, even thought by that point its not mine.

Honestly, I like them both but for different reasons. The 07 is a lot more highway worthy because of the fairing but it's got a bunch of cosmetic flaws, including a hole in the fairing, that really bug me. I also prefer the ride "feel" of the 97 more. For two reasons I find myself rarely riding the 07, a) because of the aforementioned things and b) because it's the bike I let my dad ride (whole reason I got two to begin with) so it kinda...doesn't really feel like my bike, even though it is.

In a perfect world I'd trade my 97 for a pristine condition "F" model. I know I could sell the 97 and buy a newer GS but...then I'd no longer have a rare and unique looking bike.

In all fairness, what drew me to the 97 to begin with was the fact that it was so clean and the fact that it was so unique looking.

Also, Adidas is right...I'd be devastated if the new owner destroyed the bike which, considering he said he's got "some experience", is a likely outcome.

I have an all original '79 Camaro I've had since high school that I still adore.  If someone offered me twice what it is worth they could drive it straight to a demolition derby for all I care.

If someone walked up to me with $2700 cash for my bike, I would be walking home with $2700. But my bike is pretty beat up, If I had your orange 97 I would probably think it over for a few minutes but would still end up taking the offer. Thats just me though, I'm a broke college kid so I would jump on this just so I could have money for another bike with cash leftover for other things. At least you have another GS so you wouldn't be without a motorcycle if you sold this one. If I sold my GS I would have to go in and re-tag my old ts125 and be cruising down the highway doing 50mph lol.

For $2700 you could repair the fairings on the 07, buy a nice F and still have a money left over.  Would you miss it?  Sure.  Until you replace it with something that you really want.

Well...I guess I'm glad I might've decided to keep it...

The number the guy gave me was incorrect. I called it and asked for Jeff, and the woman who answered had no idea who I was asking for.

I gave the guy my number too, so, I guess I have to wait for him to call me.

Bummer...and I was actually getting a little excited about the possibility of owning a Katana.

Twisted

Could you sell the 07 to get the Katana?

I think I'd be lucky to get 1500 for the 07 because of the damage to it. I've seen nicer and newer GS's go for 1700-2000 around here.

Katana I was looking at is 2600.

Guy offering to buy my 97 was just some random guy that approached me while I was out of town - it's a college town so that might be why he offered so much for it.
