Oh right.

Well, it's kind of a general issue. Since you've eliminated jetting as the issue, I'd say it narrows it down to electrical, fuel delivery, or venting. I would check to make sure the vent line is not clogged.

Is it possible it's just not getting enough fuel? Could you try checking the float levels? A video of what you're describing would be the best thing.

How do the diaphragms look? Good, clean, and not cracked or dry? How about the slides? Could be binding when trying to open completely?

Abyss767

tried setting the floats high tried low vents are clear filters are good, diaphragms are brand new petcock diaphragm new, strong spark, like i said its at the point where it runs perfect great power in tell u hit 3/4 to full throttle doesnt matter what rpm u hit it wot, idle it will wind out all day it has to be in the carbs i have ruled everything else out, unless theres something i dont know that has to be done after a bore, as far as advancing the timing goes... i just dont know

So bike runs crappy after a re-bore? Now you want to sell it?
Ran OK before the re-bore?
How about going back to stock jugs & pistons? Since the re-bore farkled it up, that would seem the logical solution.

Then looking at all the mods you've done, it's like installing a dozen utilities on Windows that don't play well together. It could be any one or a combination. Solution? re-load Windows or in your case, start going back to stock to find which of your mods donot like to play together.

If you're doing all those mods, then why not put the newer 3 jet carbs on? Gives you more to adjust for all those mods.

When you do something that harms whatever you're working on, un-do it and put things back the way they were.

cause i bought a second set of these carbs cuz mine had several problems now that not a bad idea but there should be no reason why i cant get these set properly.. i really love this bike just dont know what else to do except go back stock which i DO NOT want to do

Another example of fiddling to the point of stuffing it up.

As to your problem...

Solution: don't go past 3/4 throttle :thumb:

right... still not except able, maybe this might help was backfiring in the carb but i adjusted that out it seems to be running lean as f%$k but with only a k&n drop in and 150 mains and a dropin you would think it would be crazy rich.. but on the other hand i dont have anywhere nearby to take it a run the piss out of it to see what its doin at wot, but the popping makes me think lean right?

You really do need to find out what the a/f ratio is.

Any kind of inline fuel filter? If your main jet size doesn't change anything, it could be a lack of fuel at high rpms.

Try without the fuel filters. They restrict flow. Remember a GS is gravity fed - no fuel pump.
What type of filters? Some are OK while others are a no-no  :nono:

PS: Remember that there is a fine screen filter inside the tank. Probably makes the need for an external filter somewhat superfluous.
