In general, Honda CBR929RR's are not a bike that really interests me but I wouldn't mind owning this particular one.  A co-worker/friend owns it so I know the full history.  It is a one owner bike that has never been wrecked, raced or abused.  He has done good maintenance and it has minimal modifications.  Adfalchius reupholstered the seats a few years ago and it had the fork seals replaced last year.  He is toying with the idea of getting a newer R1 so I have been working him on price for the old 929   ;)

they're growing on my lately. I always liked the 900rrs, and I like the cbr1000rrs, but I was never crazy about the 929/954, with the exception of the Erion 929, as that bike is gorgeous. Lately they've been making it onto my list of possible future bikes as they make a great base for naked/streetfighters. Don't really see that many for sale though.

The Fireblade is a pretty nice looking bike. I always see them for sale with a lot of kms on them so they must be pretty good engines and people like to hang on to them.

Last I checked this bike was just shy of 20k miles.  I kind of want to wait and see how the '07 to '06 CBR1000RR frame swap goes first before I make a decision on this bike.  He's not in a hurry to sell so it shouldn't be a problem.  The times I've ridden a 929 the thing that stands out in my mind the most is how they always want to lean to the maximum.  You give it a little steering input and it just wants to fall over and turn hard.

You need to get a big discount on account of the missing frame near the swingarm pivot. Tell the guy that he's lost it somwehere.

Nice!  I recently dismantled one of these.  What I kept thinking was how everything 'fit' together nicely; overall, so clean and well made.  That and no where to stick my magnetic light cause just about all of it is aluminum.
The integration of the swingarm to engine/frame is a thing of beauty.

The negative I've found so far is if you dump it on the stator cover, it may crack the lower case and seep.  Guess if you don't drop it, that isn't a problem though.

I'm not digging the plastic gas tank cover on the CBR1000RR so far, no way to attach a magnetic tank bag.   >:(

I thought the late-model 900RR and early 929's were better than the CBR1000RR's for me.

That was always a complaint on the Buell. I eventually had to settle for a bag with straps. Not sure how much room there is between the gas tank cover and the actual tank, but a few Buell guys did say they just bought some magnets and epoxied them onto the inside of the cover, and that way the tank bag would stick to it, it was a completely different setup on the Buell though since it's the airbox cover, and not a gas tank cover.
