Misfire with feet on front pegs

I have a problem where my bike will misfire if I am in a crosswind or at hwy speed. It only happens if my feet are on the front pegs. If I put them on the back then it runs great. Anyone have a similar problem?  It has a clean air filter.

how old is this bike, mileage, etc. my gas would be that the wind is blowing your plug wire close to something metal and its grounding out, causing your misfire. with your feet in different positions it changes the airflow around the bike. thats were i'd start.

Thanx for the reply.

93 with 15k mi. Plug are new and routed properly. It's defiantly a low pressure/turbulance issue. It changes as to which way I am facing in the wind. All I have to do is move my leg.  I know it's weird.

Never had any problems running in the wind myself in many miles on 97 and 02 GSs but maybe this is worth your consideration:

407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

I've got an 07 and have experienced the same issue as the OP, but have not yet found a resolution. I find it especially troublesome when running at lower ambient temps, like below 40 F, which means to me that the wind is somehow contributing to an already lean condition.

I wish it were as easy as moving my feet around!

I will go through the thread recommended by GSJack and let you know if I find any improvement. It's not a tank venting issue (I already investigated/cleaned the vent or fuel line issue (replaced them with OEM because they were cracked).

Look for loose connections.  Start at the ignition pickup and work to the coils, then work to the wires, then plugs.

Sounds strange, but when you move around, a loose connection can suddenly become tight and all is well.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

Defiantly sounds like what that mag article is describing.

I should add that I am in west tx and this time of year a lite breeze is about 40mph.

I will relocate the float bowl vent line and post with my results.

Thanx all

Finally back on the bike with several weeks of riding. I moved the carb vent line from the air box to just above the battery. This solved the problem. Seems like it was a low pressure issue behind the side cover. I will change the hose out and hang it out the bottom of the bike and see what that does for me.

Thanx for the replies and ideas.
