Hi can anyone help?

I had a faired 1995 500e, until I decided it was looking tatty! I have removed all signs of the fairing and have re fitted an aftermarket headlight. The original h/l were either very expensive new or crap!!

I bought a Hi Level (manufacturer) 7in chrome h/l but can't work out the wiring!!! I've sorted the side light they match - brown/black but after that it just looks like a rainbow!! The new headlight has 5 wires, 2 accounted for, the others are blue green and white. Having looked at the wiring diagram in the Haynes it should be white, yellow and black/white?

I'm thinking

White - white
Green - yellow
Blue - black/white

Anyone concur or got anything better to offer?   :dunno_black:

1995 with a fairing? You have the original OEM fairing not sold in the USA?
Love to see pictures of it. Where are you located? My guess is not in the USA.

Also pictures of your new headlight.

Sorry don't know how to add piccies!

No I'm not from the US, I'm from the UK and I'm afraid I've binned the fairing. I bought the GS as a commuter for work but it had been dropped previously and the fairing had been cracked and mountings bent!

Oh and some idiot tried to mask them by adding racing decals!!!

Bummer on the fairing. Even damaged they go for $200-$300 USD plus shipping. They were never sold in the USA and are HIGHLY sought after. Sure you can't get it out of the bin? I can really use the clear windshield. I have a used one where the windshield was trimmed due to a corner broken off. never hurts to have a spare headlamp unit.

The FAQ has info on posting pictures.

Basically, upload to some site. Then you copy the URL of the photo. Click the Mona-Lisa icon and insert the URL between the HTML code. It will put your cursor there after clicking on it. Click the PREVIEW MESSAGE to see if it worked. If so, then click POST.

GREEN is common. (Black/white)
The other two are high and low. BLUE seems to be high (connect to Yellow). White is LOW (connect to white).

How I buzzed out the wires without opening up a headlight.

Dude that is great thank you, it's works brilliantly. I have two other wires from the original twin faired version I'll just cap them off.

The fairing went to our amenities centre a few days ago, the only thing I have left is the headlight unit itself.

I haven't got any pics of the original bike but I'll upload the final version.

Aren't the remaining 2 wires the running light?
If your new headlight doesn't have it, then cap them off or run some low power accessories from it.

Cut the spare wires off after checking it didn't effect the bike. Changed and colour coded the terminals, all have spade connectors on now. Thanks for the help, appreciated dude! Cheers
