Thumper has the low beam out. I need the old headlight which seems impossible to find.

Anyone have some old stuff laying around? maybe someone in a country where smaller bikes are more popular - especially older ones? Used OK as long as both filaments work.

For 1973 TS-185-K
Suzuki part number 35121-27630
Part number on the lamp:  STANLEY  001-1103   6v 25w/25w

Sorry - a thread is worthless without photos.....

Is it a whole sealed beam headlight or just a bulb?

Pretty sure it's an entire sealed unit.

Adidas, if nobody has one available, you may look into some moped specific sites - www.mopedarmy.com is the first that comes to mind. The 6v lighting system can be a little pita to try and replace........

It's opener there in the wide open air...

Let me check my dad's garage in a couple days, he had a 1973 TS250 and I thought he had an extra in a drawer. I'll get back to you.

It is called a "semi-sealed" unit. There is a bulb permanently inside the unit. There is the typical glass front. Metal back and a dual filament bulb inside. The outer most ring can be removed as that's the 7" ring that mounts in the headlight bucket.

I'd settle for something that will FIT. I can easily deal with different connector or wiring.

Nothing like riding the old 1973 thumper. The smell of 2-stroke. The noise. The sound of an angry leaf blower (ha -ha ! no longer riding an angry sewing machine!)

Zook of VanNuys - I did order from them. They were nice about cancelling the order because the light was unavailable.
One I located on ebay for $99 was the correct part number. I hate paying twice retail - but it is not available anywhere and I guess its the universe getting back at me for making a killer find on those OEM 1989 clip on bar sets.

So I ordered a $99 headlamp.

Would still like another one at a  non-scalping,  "please take my balls out of the vice" price.

I'll contact the bike breaker - that looks like the best possibility.
I may get that complete assembly to try. It is the next year's model TS-185 by my parts book. Being a complete unit, it may pop on and I could still consider it original parts (sort of).

PS: Sent email to the Ausie bike breaker. The 1980 in the ebay is wrong part but being a breaker of older bikes - that's a good lead. Thank you.

If you found a couple of the right headlamp down under, I suppose I could trade some GS500 parts but I can't think of anything I have that you would want.  :flipoff:

I would want nothing but the actual cost of part so if I find something I will let you know. :thumb:
