I like the smaller clocks up front. Not so much the seat ~ I know it's supposed to be a brit-look-alike but I don't think it meshes well with the rest of the bike ~ looks pasted on. Needs something to cover up the space under the seat, and some proper wire wheels although the stockers look OK.

Read the comments. They hate the GS500 because it's too "pedestrian".

QuoteCongratulations for turning the dullest of dull dishwater hacks into a more interesting bike.
QuoteEvery time I see a stock GS500 I want to buy it and do something to give it some character.

Fantastic, Rich. Ya beat me to it.  :D

That transverse stripe on the tank is a nice touch and something I can't recall seeing elsewhere. I like the reduced size of the headlight bucket, too. I've had something along these lines on my sketch pad for a while, but I am torn as to whether spoked wheels will add to the look or just be too much vintage-ness. Anyway, looks pretty good with the stock 3-spokers. The colours are well chosen here.

Nice post Rich and a very nice custom GS. He kept it simple and it looks great.

I like the gauges. Sweet look
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

The upper tank line still a bit high compare to the seat but  overall a great looking bike.

Yep ~ that's what kills it about that part of the bike for me, too

I think it looks great.  Simple with good lines.  Great post.

great work, thanks for the post for sure!

the stripes on tank look GORGEOUS imo!

i thought the rear fit ok until the last photo:

photographer did a good job at taking photos of the bike from the right angles(except the last one) :icon_lol:

I like the blinkers, smaller gauges, and clubman bars. I don't really like the rear fender/seat setup. The streetfighter someone left in the comments looks better IMO

I actually generally like cafe racers more than street fighters, partially because most streetfighters are just an afterthought due to ruining the farings on a sport bike. I just think the GS isn't the best candidate for a cafe build. They look funny if you just slap a flat seat on the back and yank off the plastic.
