trying to order exhaust gaskets....

So, i'm trying to order exhaust gaskets so i can finally put my exhaust on. The local shop doesnt have them because they are too lazy to look. Seriously.
I ask "do you guys have exhaust gaskets for a 95 gs500?"
Without looking: "No we dont have those"
"How about for a 2010 GS500?"
"No we don't carry those. "
"Even though you're a Suzuki dealership?"
"No we dont carry those"

-not even an offer to order them for me.

:: sigh ::

So i hit up Amazon, since they always have what i seek, and this is what the product says:

"Exhaust gaskets sold in 10-packs, priced individually"

What does that even mean?!?  Is the price for one gasket or one pack of ten gaskets?
The cost is $24.

justafifteen

Methinks that means $24 for a pack of ten.

Also, if it were me, I would go back to the Suzuki dealership and tear them a new a$$hole and make them order whatever parts I need. But that's just me

Amazon always has what I need as well.
Go back there and hopefully that same lazy employee is on a break or went home and ask again. They should either order you one since they are a business, or pay the $24 for the pack of ten and pawn them here for anyone who needs one.

That's piss poor service. Go back and ask to see the manager, and complain and demand something for inconveniencing you.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Like the exhaust gasket you were trying to have them order, im sure it costs no more than 3.75 including tax

Exhaust gasket is a generic part.
Give them the part number.
It is not a gs specific part.

I just replaced mine as well. My local shop is great though. Sorry you have a hard time. My guy told me the same thing Adidas said, he didn't have that part number specifically, just said, "bring me the old one, I'll match it up to the hundreds I have."

if its $24 for ten that a good price i paid $9 for two. But i would also complain to them, that's where most of them make there money.

Isn't it the same gasket from a GS450 and a GR650? If so, Denniskirk.com has them. I can't remember how much they were though.

GS450, GR650 and GS300 all used the same gasket.

I was actually able to get some gas seals for my extra carbs that I'm putting together at Sportland just last Saturday.  I just asked to look at the parts fiche with the guy at the desk, got the part number and then he checked the inventory.  He said they have a bunch of older Suzuki and Kawa parts that they bought recently from another dealer.

If you can't get them there, order them from ronayers.com. That's where I got mine.  I have a couple of parts to order soon too if you want me to add them to save on shipping.  Or you can try using my old ones for kicks if you want them for free.  They don't look too bad.

Maybe i smell funny, i dont know. But Sportland has been a constant stream of frustration with me lately. Every time i go in there they seem rather disinterested in my money.

There is one parts guy thats usually pretty awesome, but i never seem to bump into him anymore.

I've never been impressed with Sportland.  That's for sure.  Seems like they should at least look to see if they have the part, and then offer to order it if not.  I mean, that's not even going above and beyond for the customer.  That's just the minimum of what is expected right?

i hate going to the dealerships because of a'holes like that. i go straight for the internet for parts.

also make sure you clean up the seat area and take out the old gasket. i just did the gaskets on a friends bike and the PO left 2 gaskets in there + a wad of sealant. guess he just got lazy and stacked them.

Have you heard anything about Taurus Cycle here in town?

bombsquad83

Nope, I haven't.  I have only been in town for 3 years and just got my first bike this year.
