Found a couple of deals within a few hour's drive time of me in MI. Too bad I'm not looking...

http://southbend.craigslist.org/mcy/3022923756.html - '93 w/ unknown miles needs a bit of work: $600
http://annarbor.craigslist.org/mcy/3019441966.html - '90 w/ unknown miles looks clean: $600

And the pièce de résistance: http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/mcy/3010258819.html - '89 not running, willing to part out: $450 (I see clip-ons... :whisper:)

My mistake...I didn't read that thread. Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the inclination to read every post in every thread. :thumb:

Looks like dyslexia in action...my guess is the price was supposed to be 5250, not 2520.

I think this guy is asking too much, but it does look to be in pretty good shape.

Not only that, but I'm wondering exactly when those pics were taken. Says he's got a Vance & Hines exhaust on it now, but it's not pictured. I would guess the pics were taken a year or two ago, right after the new paint job...wonder how it really looks today.

Good point.  Especially if it was a spray can special.

I agree.  :dunno_white: Not sure what's worse, what the guy wants to do or his photoshop skills.

Be nice.  :nono:  He's a West Seattle member and a member here.

Idk, I like the idea, I always thought the gs could use a cleaner rear end. With a high mount exhaust it would look pretty ba if done properly

Custom paint? Automatically deduct $700-1000 from the bike. Doesn't really matter...custom painted bike = less valuable than original factory paint. I'd be willing to bet, judging by the finish, that it was indeed sprayed on from a can. That doesn't mean that it doesn't look good...it just means that you can't ask as much as a bike that's in identical condition with original paint. Sorry, that's how it goes.

$700 to $1000 off of what is at most a $2000 bike?  That's a little much even for a rattle can paint job.  If the new paint is done with real automotive paint instead of a can, I don't see why it would reduce the value much at all.
