Hey, so my neutral light stopped working yesterday. Not a big deal, just wondering if there's an easy fix for this.

Thanks

Replace the light bulb?

bombsquad83

Yup.  Not sure exactly what kind of bulb is supposed to go in there, but I had the same thing happen and replaced it with one I had laying around that was for a license plate light on a car.  Just pull out the little rubber holder with the light bulb in it from the bottom of the gauge mount and you can take the bulb out and replace it.

Tiny T-10  3.4w  size for 89-00. T-5 size for 2001+ (not sure of wattage, but 2-3 would be about right)
Time to replace them with LEDs!

Stock speedo/tacho bulbs are 1.7watts. I blew one so changed them both to 2w - otherwise I'd have two bulbs pulling different which could blow a bulb.

I'd imagine, if you go with a Much higher wattage bulb in one light you'll have issues with blowing bulbs. Which would mean, change them all out. In which case, do as Addy suggests and go all LEDs :thumb:

Service manual says 3.4w for tach, speedo, neutral, turn, oil lights.
1.7w for high beam indicator.

Don't know if it is the factory recommendation but I stick in the 194 tag bulbs we have at work and they work fine.

That's what I used too.

Well, when I pulled my speedo bulb it had 1.7w written on it. Probably another one of those USA model vs Aust model things.

Ahh, but if only it were this simple...I'm pretty sure it's another issue however. It's come back on 2 or 3 times since originally going out. Once out of neutral, it disappears again for a day or two. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Appreciate the bulb info though- may use that to replace my high beam indicator which his been out for quite some time.

Still start with a bulb, may have an intermittent open if it has a broken filament.
