CTP will not differ for your rego. The choice is an illusion.

BUT, outside of rego CTP is where the changes really take place.

Go onto the NSW RTA website and read the VSIs. They are pretty clear on what you can and can't do. As for what your insurance company is happy with that's a different ball game.
Muffler will have requirements as its not as superficial as you may think for the RTA. I'm not sure what they are but have a read on the website. The more you read on the site you will find things like, every second 4x4 is illegal because of the extra large tyres they are running etc. Quite interesting. I've done a fair amount of car modifying and VSIs were a good guide, so when the cars went to engineering there usually wasn't to much to get fixed up.

A.Milos are you on a restricted license? P's, L's?  That will rule out the muffler

111 for rego (plus plate was an extra 30 or so yet thats a one off thing) then 560ish for my greenslip, 100 less than my car for greenslip yet still a decent ammount

$560 for a greenslip.  Is that because your under 25?

Comp insurance was 1550 and that's with discounts for rating 4 and aami safe driver rewards. That's the price of being 21 I guess

Wow man. Full comp with AAMI is costing me 376 this year. I am rating 1 and platinum but still your almost 4 times the amount and I've only had a bike license for 3 and a bit years.

I forgot to update my Rego costs this year  248 for ctp greenslip with gio. 240 comprehensive with Qbe.

I recently renewed my rego for 12 months, here in QLD. All the CTP insurers are the same price.

Came to $411.00.

CTP $262.80.
Registration $98.70.
"Traffic Improvement Fee" $49.50. (Who knows where this is going).

I check with each of the CTP providers to see if they are doing any 'switch to us' promotions,, usually in the order of a $20-25 gift card. I couldn't see much difference between them in terms of the coverage they provide, so I just switch between them each rego change on each vehicle and spend the gift cards on food/clothing. I figure 40 bucks a year for not doing much is better than a kick in the teeth...

You'll find that having a vehicle's 3rd party with an insurer counts as having insurance with them. So if any offer discounts for multiple policies, the 3rd party choice counts. by doing this I save more than $40 a year on insurance.
