Going to be HOTTTTT the next 3 days.
90 to 95 with 25% to 50% humidity.

First time this year that I "Might" be riding in that kind of heat since all of the work I've put into it.
(last yr I didnt care to take notice)

No oil cooler on the bike like the newer ones.

I know enough to shut the bike off in stop and go traffic.

But other then that, should I even bother chancing it?
or just take a few days off until the mid 80s next week.

Lookin on input from people who actually Ride in those temps, not someones book knowledge on the situation.

Ride the piss out of it. It doesn't care.

No idling ! Any speed above running pace is fine.

I rode in tampa, fl all summer long.

I've ridden my GR in every temperature so far. And if you look around on ADVRider, there are multiple threads about riding other air cooled bikes off road in the deserts of Arizona.

I live in Cincinnati Ohio.  It was 103* F yesterday on my way home from work.  Ride to work daily rain or shine.  I drive in stop and go traffic on the Interstate.  Felt like I was in Phoenix, AZ.  An oven to say the least.  I have a 2009 with all fairings and oil cooler.

We have air cooled engines that are meant to withstand high temperatures.  As long as you are moving, albeit slowly, you are OK.  While stopped, just let it idle.  Don't rev it like a GSXR hitting the rev limiter.  If you are stopped dead for more than 5 minutes, shut 'er down.  Otherwise, you are ok.

Do this:  Make sure your engine is tuned and running properly (meaning newer plugs, jetted correctly, not overly lean mixture, etc), and make sure that the oil level is full.  Our engines are cooled by air and oil (oil for newer models).  The more airflow AND oil the better.  If you are changing your oil soon, try using a thicker viscosity.  I run Delo 400 marketed for diesel trucks.  15W-40 oil.  Perfect for this kind of weather.  In the winter, I switch to 10W-40.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...
