There is a horde of dogs loose in my neighborhood... not the dogs problem, its the damn owners... And they say oh no he doesn't bite... "of course not... He's not going to bite you... you feed him" Anyway I kicked a jack russel terrier 50 feet acrodd 2 front lawns couple days ago, cos somehow his electronic fence failed and he was running at me, the wife and baby... Long time since I played soccer... but made decent contact, didn't get much of a run, but no ground pound, no left slip... nothing decent contact right in the chest and "Pow"... it was winpering in the air... but landed in the lawn instead of the driveway and limped away... instead of thudding into concrete. Evidently that dog has been kicked before... people have done the same thing. And there is this 200lb dog that's taken care of by a 30lb 5 year old girl... Isn't that cruelty to both animals and children... anyway... they are all over the place in my neighborhood... something is going to get run over.. .and I hope its that damn pommeranian with the super shrill bark. Anyway Big dogs are better than little ones... the owners of little dogs think they are made of gold... and those things are running about barking and chasing evreything... especially the GS ... noisiest of the lot.

If you see a funny looking speckled dog running around - don't kick it Srinath! My dog's been getting out lately...gotta fix that fence. She only bites other dogs though - loves people, especially kids. Pisses me off when I have to drive around looknig for her though.

I was only kicking it to get him away from screamin baby... the dog was barking at the sereaming baby and running toward him, the barking scared the baby who screamed more and that got the dog more excited... till the Pow... then dog disappeared, baby only screamed a few more minutes and quieted down.
Runing over dogs... I was driving around in Livermore 2 days before leaving CA for NC back in 2002 when this rather large white dog was on the left of the street barking at a dog across the street. I saw it, and so did a few others and we all slowed to a crawl... then all of a sudden the dog jumped up and ran acrodd the street, and under my rear wheel... then the owner comes to pick it up when it jumps up and probably blind from pain... bites her in the face... and all this is happening behind me... and when I get off the road and so does the 100 others... I see that she's bleeding from the face... and runing down her shirt... and people there are yelling at me for runing over her... and I'm wondering why I didn't see her in the road... and she cant talk she's busy trying to control the dog... and screaming in pain, then her husband drives up, and she explains to him what happened... and the cops come and question everybody and some people said I ran over her, but finally she managed to say, the dog ran under his truck and then bit me... and I say whew... I am not prolly getting arrested today....

I love animals, and if you have one(my gf has 3 horses, 2 dogs, and 20+cats) as a pet or campanion, it is YOUR job to take care of them(feed, train, give safety, ect.), much as you would a child.  When I had cats, they were mainly indoor, but I would let them into the yard every now and then.  I had them trained so that when I told them to go in they did.  I only fed them inside, so they figured it out quick.  I am amazed at how many people train their larger dogs, but never train the little ones, they just drag them on the leash.
