Just to keep on the topic that is off topic from the jacked thread. I prefer Android. Had the iPhone4 and it's cool and works flawless as far as the hardware is concerned but it just doesn't have the diversity of my Motorola X2. The Apple vetting process that you speak of seemed to kinda limit what I could get. But on the flip side of that the Andriod marketplace is a geat place to pass out you personal info if you don't watch what you're downloading. Really comes down to personal preference as both are great. Kinda like the PS3 or Xbox360 debate. (go PS3)

While I don't necessarily disagree with what jdoorn14 has said about Android & Apple (though I come to different conclusions), my opinion is visual:

If you can't be a good example, at least try to be a horrible reminder.

I believe that we will still be using iPhones, or some version of an iPhone, for the next 20 years. DROID phones will be gone in 5 years, tops.

The following of Apple products is cult like. I love my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Nano ( the newest touchscreen kind ). If I can afford it, my next computer will be an Apple as well and I will have officially made the transition to the dark side. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Huff1371

Can't disagree with the cult status of Apple. But that doesn't mean it's better. ex. The Zune vs. iPod.  :D Now I really started it :D

i dont deal wiht cults that prescribe using itunes. or forcing me to hack my ipod/ipad/isee, or whatever to use some other service to transfer music. i use microsoft or vlc to get music onto ipods that i service for the pawn shop. 5 minutes = $10 best money ive ever made. this happens often. ppl lose an ipod touch to a pawn. and leave pw in place. theyre not goingto be forthcoming wiht PW. ive ways around that takes all of 2 minutes. i then load what i feel new owner would want. music, a few games etc. some apps etc. and shes good to go. ive got 4 more to service tomorrow.

I read an article the other day that was similar to this, but it didn't note the demise of the Android OS. Here it is. In a nutshell, it said that sales of Android phones are expected to peak in 2012 (this year) and will likely lead market share through at least 2016 with around 53%. This is due to the number of different phone manufacturers and models using Android OS more than popularity/superiority. Both iOS and Windows Mobile are supposed to hold around 19% each by 2016 (which, for iOS will likely include only a few models - the current iPhone plus the last 3-4 models). By 2016, Blackberry will no longer be a major player in the cellphone/smartphone market with only 6% of the market share.

Does Apple have a good racket? Sure, but so does Google. As mobile computing technology continues to advance, each company will do their best to make people believe that they need to trade up to the most current products on a regular basis. Why else does Apple release a new iOS version every year with new devices to run it, and why else would Google put out a new OS flavor every 6-9 months, before the current version is available for many devices?

phones should be able to rome free outside as they see fit.  limiting your phone to a pocket or purse is no life for a phone.  They will never truly be happy or see their full potential....ahh,  wait....crap, wrong thread.

I have a Imac, an MacBook Pro, and an Ipad.  (the Ipad sits on my desk collecting dust, and the only reason i have one is because i won it.)  i WILL NOT convert to the Iphone because i love my GalaxyS way too much and will upgrade this Aug to the S3, if sprint ever gets them in stock for more then a day.

But if you let your phone outside your pocket it can become damaged. I can't stand the hypocritical A$$holes that rock their phone in some soft-case holder on their belt for the world to attack. I keep mine in an otter-box defender inside it's hard-case inside my pocket inside my kevlar riding pants inside my rain suit. I only use bluetooth so I won't damage it. Anyone who lets their phone ride their hip and then bitches and moans because it has a cracked screen is DUMB.
