So... Who's been pulled over this season?

Hi-T

The first was for a rolling stop... fortunately it was a motorcycle cop and all I got was a warning.

Today I almost got number two- There's a nice, clean, new road over by the airport that's about 3 miles long and straight- good for practicing fast stuff.  No one uses it except UPS  and truckers- and today airport police. He was in the shadow of a truck and flashed his lights just as I passed him at 20 over the limit... I got lucky and he kept on driving... lucky- real lucky...

I have yet to be pulled over, but I did pass a cop at 190km/h in a 90km/h zone who was giving a guy a ticket on the other side of the road. I was about 3 km from my house. I was absolutley terrified.

twice.
tickets both times too ! :x
1st. Doing 115 Km/h on what i figured was a highway, but quickly found out has an 80 km/h limit (as do all highways in Victoria, BC area)  I thought I may be let off, as it was my first time being pulled over and was going with the flow of traffic (some what), and i had just moved to Vic. But nope..got a nice ticket for that one, got court for it Friday.....anyone got any hints for court ?

2nd. Speed trap in a school zone by a motorbike cop...nope not let off ! I first couldn't believe he pulled me over, i didn't think i was going fast at all, but the limit is 30 km/h in the school zone so i suppose i was going over (he never told me how fast i was going).  Awaiting a court date on this one.

No pullover - lots of follows because i don't  have a reg sticker on my license plate. PenDot didn't include it with my card, or it got lifted before i got it. The stickers are very collectable here. You'll see lots of plates on cars with the corner cut off.

Since this topic is up, I did have a close call Monday. Two cars, side by side just crawling along at the 30mph speed limit, in town. Then the right side one moves ahead leaving enough for me to fit. Down two gears, swing from left to right lane and zing up behind him. In the gap between the two cars I see a police cruiser coming the other way, officer looking right at me now doing 20 over! :nono: . We both jam the breaks, he changes lanes to make a U turn. I swing back to the left lane and turn off into a parking lot that I know exits to a side street and then take a few back streets home. It's good to know I still haven't lost my edge, ha ha.

That's sweet.  I tried to intelligently elude a cop in my car once but it didn't work.  I was so pissed.  :x

In December I got pulled over for 50mph in a 35.  Actually, he followed me to my house and I didn't know he was there until I walked out of the garage.

Just a warning, since the cop rides too, luckily.  He made his point though, and didn't mince any words.  I felt like I was back in the principal's office :)

i was taking off on a 280 mile ride to my folk's place, and left a bit later at night than i had anticipated.  As i hate riding through open pitch dark country late at night, i decided to get as many miles under my belt as i could before darkness fully hit.  As i was screaming down a highway out of minneapolis into wisconsin, i realized i was going pretty fast (mid 90's) and thought, as long as i was doing that, and speeding anyway, i might as well try to top the bike out.  so i tucked, down shifted into 5th and went wide open.  i went over a hill a little bit later and right at the base of the hill as a cop gunning people on my side of the road.  i slammed my brakes so fast and rode by him going 70.  for the next 2 miles i kept glancing in my mirrors waiting for him to pull me over clocking me at 110.  man that would have sucked.

Yeah, I've seen cops at the MN-WI border a few times, usually with MN cars pulled over.  Everyone I know from out of state says wisconsin cops are real bad.  Probably true, but fortunately I've never had a run in with them.  Only run in was up at school, in Houghton, MI in a cage when I was going 73 in a 40, you do the math

not yet thankfully. i got my gs 2 months ago and i was riding it without a motorcycle liscense. i know that is extremely frowned on guys ,   and i'm sorry. i had riden it for about 3 days before i found out it was a felony offense to do so. yiiiiiiikes. got my permit the next day.  so much for taking the motorcycle safety course. i never took drivers ed either.  i'm legal now though. a helmet is next on my to do list. its just soooo nice to ride without one. then again it is nice having my skull safe. its sorta important. :dunno: who knew?

dear the police,
i am a swell guy. if you see me out there, please be gentle. i didn't mean to do it.  you can take my gs for a ride to see why i did it.

LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

Check back to verify whether the speed limit is posted on the road where you were stopped. Many years ago I was stopped on a rural road doing 85 in a 45mph zone. The officer actually let me off with a warning after I pointed out the road was not marked. He said the speed limit was "assumed" to be 45 on unmarked roads. This was in the US, so it may or may not help.

unfortunately they both do, the school zone one has a nice yellow sign i should have paid attention to !

The cop never told me how fast i was actually going (like what he got me doing on the radar gun)...did he have to tell me when he pulled me over ?

Ed_in_Az

I understand you're in Canada, so I'm not sure, but in the US they should put a violation speed on the citation. If not, then I don't know how the could calculate a fine or make a charge stick.

The cops in Canada are weird, eh.  When I was in Sault St. Marie on a weekend trip, the cops had a road block in the middle of a neighborhood, and they were checking ever car.  Get this: they were checking to make sure everyone had they're seatbelts on.  Is that really a good reason to stop every car on the street?

Got one doing 90 in a 65 about a month ago.  In Cali it's not reckless until 100.  I just paid it and it was $252.00 not including traffic school.  Luckily he didn't see me before I saw him because I was at around 115.  My rear brake lever is disconnected from the tail light for a reason.  Anyway, I don't go faster than the fastest car around me on the freeway anymore unless splitting lanes in traffic.

BTW South East Rocket, is that girl in your avatar from BARF?  I thinl I know her, she works at a local bar and the bouncer there is the one who posts her stuff.  She is hot though.
