She lives!
After putting the new signal generator on, she cranked up and ran poorly, the carbs were full o varnish from old gas sitting for 2 months, so after a good clean and re-adjustment, BOOM!

With all thanks to Soloratov, for hooking me up with a wonderful christmas in august. You're a damn fine person, sol. Any time you run through jax, beer's on me.

I also went crazy on the handle bars, bent them to a new, more aggressive  position, and put a pair of progressive springs in to liven up the ride. they were under 70 bucks on fleabay, so i bit.

i may even post a pic if anyone is interested. no telling how comfy the new bars will be yet, gotta get out and ride.

Here you guys go!  :woohoo:

Here she is in front of our other project, the boat.

What i've done to the bars:

And if anyone cares, a video of how the exhaust sounds. Started her up no choke, so she's a little spitty in the carbs. I haven't had time to ride and dial in the idle mix all over again since I've cleaned up the carbs, but I like to think she's running even better than she did before the SG failed. (and if you hear any weird noises let me know!)

You can also see my epically good seat repair job. The auto place quoted me 150 bucks to re-upholster the thing, and I said, F that, I'm poor. Though i do know that's the going rate these days.

Never saw one with an Akrapovic before. Sounds good!

haha, thanks twism, I had a local fab up a mid-pipe for it, got the can for 50 bucks i think, and sounds way better than whatever the PO did to the original exhaust....

she's definitely not the prettiest in the world, but she runs now, and I'm happy.

new tires should be here soon as well.

Feels like a whole new bike with the springs, and  i've got a pair of superbike bars on the way.
The crazy bendy ones- i don't like the outcome of that experiment, its too stretched out for me. (Im only 5'8")

who knows whats next? not me.
