Hi all,
I would like to do a Fenderectomy to my 08 Naked, but really dont want to do it on my original one, in case the next buyer (I plan to sell towards the end of next year) doesn't like it, or there is some crazy rule in the RW Certificate about needing it.  I have found a couple on Ebay in the past, but they always have indicators attached and will not seperate.  So, if you do have a "spare" one around that you would be willing to sell, please let me know.

I am in Vic, Aus, so would prefer one that is in Aus, as I think postage from US or other countries would be pretty extreme for the size of the thing, but if you don't think it would be that bad please let me know.
Cheers,
Andy.

Here in the US, a NEW rear fender from a dealer is only $40. Surprisingly cheap.

Andy, I dont know about Vic but in NSW and QLD a fenderectomy will void your registration as it is non compliant. BUT in saying that, I have removed mine and have not been pulled up yet. (Depends on the a'hole of a copper you get.) Also make sure you replace the rear reflector when you do it as it is required as well.

lucky for me the PO of mine had just cut off the rear right at the bottom of the number plate .. but i didnt see him do it ... 'i dont know' what is was supposed to be? .. 'I thought it was this year model styling thing' ...

plus the car rego man i take it to for pink slip ... checks the lights and blinkers, the horn ... and 'visual check for oil leaks' ... took him.. oh .. 32 seconds last time?

Thanks guys,
Not too worried about getting pulled over while I am riding, but yeah, did think I might have trouble getting a RWC when comes time to sell, especially as places that do them are really getting cracked down on lately here in Vic. (cars anyway, not sure about bikes yet...)
Will try the dealer adidasguy, but recon they will be a bit dearer here in AUS, most things are when it comes to these things....

according to the ADRs (so every state in Australia) your fender must extend to a point where if you draw a line coming out at 45 degrees from you rear axle, the fender will meet it.  Basically any removal or part removal of the stock fender (without replacing it with something equivalent too ADR standards) will void your rego, insurance and land you with fine and demerit points.  Snorters were pinging riders on the old Coast Hinterland yesterday for it, just warnings, but they had to sign a statutory declaration that it would be fixed.

hrm... when they hand me one .. i'll sign it .. and fix it i spose.. till then... dunno nuffin!!  ;)

Well I have had the popo sitting behind me on many occasion and have not had an issue "yet" BUT I dont think its the popo you need to worry about. It the transport department thats sucks your a$$ regarding the fender as most popo do not know the law anyway.
